congestion charge NO campaign

Quick question to the people that would vote NO.

If they changed it so they only had the inner charging zone and scrapped the outer zone would you change your vote?

It would probably sway some, but for me no I'd still vote against it. I simply don't see how it's fair that the motorist should pay for public transport improvements yet the public transport user shouldn't have to pay at all (please don't claim they pay their 'fare' so that's their contribution, the fare is simply the amount they have to pay in order to get from A to B, it's not to pay for improvements).

She would have to leave at that time to get to work if she was to use public transport, and assuming no street ratshigh on crack got to her first. And as for the trams being clean, well, not the one I was on last night in town.
It is ANOTHER TAX, and you oh, so 'green' and 'right on' muppets are falling for the councils propaganda and lies. I know of nobody other than a couple of you on here who have been taken in by them, and I think its a forgone vote as a great big NO.
So, eat your lentils, knit some pasta, and get used to the fact, the car is king!!

Think I will go out and sit with the engine running for an hour............

This tired and inaccurate comparison again. I'm not going to get into it again, but suffice to say the use of motor vehicles is a damn sight more important, and necessary, than smoking. Nice to see you're looking at this objectively as opposed to simply making the decision to try and hurt others. "Matty"
And your point with taking my comment to someone elses post and adding it to the bottom of a post it bears now relation to whatsoever is what exactly?

I think I understand that. As Matty originally made the comment perhaps he can tell you?

Ok, I think you must have taken a blow to the head. I AM MATTY! You took a post I made in response to a Stonerblue post and added it as a response to someone elses post. Why?

It's a few years since I lived in Manchester - I moved out just after we created our crap, plastic M25, by putting a few M60 signs on the M62 and building a bit of motorway down east Manchester. I am saddened to hear of this charge for entering the "ring", and would suggest that if Mancs want to live like this then you might as well move to London and support the M***** shite - no to the charge.

Why doesn't the goverment or the council of Greater Manchester just improve the trains, trams and buses and make them more comfortable, realiable and safer then alot more people would decide to use the public transport meaning less cars on the road??

Or is that too simple for them to come up with?

Because our local council are skint. Most of our tax goes into London. This is the only sure way to get dedicated fundng for the north west.
