Conspiracy theories......

Interesting that this thread has appeared again today. I noticed that the name of that Sheffield United Ladies footballer who died the other day is trending on twitter. And it's not with people wishing condolences. You can probably guess why.

I have the absolute misfortune to be related by marriage to someone who believes these things.

Ukraine deserves it

Russia and China are the good guys

Covid is just a myth as are other illnesses like diabetes and some forms of cancer, these things have been invented to help big pharm companies.

Add that to the "I have always said" when shocking news erupts even when this person has said nowt of the sort ever.
Their favourite line is, ‘I make my own mind up’…

Well, that’s a bloody lie! They don’t make their own mind up at all.

They get sucked into whatever some turnip is saying on YouTube or whatever daft website they’ve been reading with flimsy, made-up or completely wrong information as evidence to back up their lies, ahem, claims, and they just follow what the trend is in the conspiracy world at any one time.

Ok not the plane one or the McCann one they have their own thread but what's your favourite? Did the yanks land on the moon? Was Marilyn Monroe murdered? What about Roswell?

What others too?

As a kid in the 70's I always believed they landed on the moon but in recent years I'm not so sure! And Marilyn? Did the Kennedy's get rid?
400,000 people directly or indirectly involved in the lunar landings…! They landed on the moon..!

Last time we saw BBB on here was about a week before the moon landings, so I doubt she'll see your reply.

(Serial Killer, pushed multiple people off the towpath into the canal).

That's great. But nowhere near answering the question.
Ok I'd say the opposite of believing conspiracy theories is not believing in them.

Like when the worlds experts come on TV and give explanations about covid, you either believe them or not. They are not the media. They are highly qualified extremely clever experts.

Well at least that's an answer thank you. But the problem is they are the highly qualified experts put on TV....by the media. Like pinkfinal said. I just find myself sceptical of everything these days because everyone seems to have an agenda. I would just like news reports to be facts, so I can make my own mind up from there
