my eyesight seemed to be getting worse so went to tesco in middleton for an eye test, my original specs are fine but they quoted me 40£ per month for lenses which seemed expensive, hence the thread. Thanks to all of you btw

That's completely excessive. Is that just for bog-standard lenses?

I'm on monthly, top-of-the-range varifocals and pay £26 per month.

i don't know PB, i know nowt about lenses, they just said that for me to wear contacts constantly for a month then that would be the cost, Tbh i got the really hard sell, they even tried to get me to buy some specs for when I'm cycling for £80. When you say monthly's, does that mean you get one pair that you take out each night and they last you a month?

I've worn them for around 6-7 years now and pay about 12 pound a month. They are monthly lenses from specsavers and I have no problems with them at all. Have been toying with the idea of laser surgery but its paying the cost of the procedure that I guess costs a bit!

Horrible, rancid, eye scratching bull shite. I could feel them constantly scratching at my eye balls. The longest I had them in was 12 hours when I was stuck in York without my glasses, by the end of the day, my eyes were completely bloodshot and I felt like ripping them out of my head.
