Its another one that needs to be got out into the public domain whilst its in memory and there are still victims that are alive. I hope after this they do one on that thing that doesn't exist yet science keeps showing it does - Long Covid- and who's victims are ignored.

Thats why the Miners Strike and Orgreave missed the mark - the public see it as long ago and involving a dead industry.
My kids got to understand the Aids and Miners strike era by watching the movie Pride which is worth a watch on its own - great film
 
Infected blood inquiry out today and it's horrendous. The state, who effectively run this country, are at times absolutely evil. Kids, babies knowingly infected and it makes me feel physically ill. Any person with any culpability for this terrible event should be dealt with in the most severe manner, but I doubt they will. Disgusting and thoroughly shameful episode in this country's recent history.
 
I remember this being news in the late 80s, as I had a blood transfusion in 1983 and so it caught my attention.
I had no idea that these poor people had still not got justice.

We appear to be quite late to this party. Plenty of other countries have gone through the process, put folk in the big house and paid compensation.

I just don’t know why our governments find it so hard to hold our hands up when we fuck up. Far easier to double down and deny everything. It’s why politics is just word games, “I may have inferred x but I never actually said those exact words”… it’s just a game to them.
 
Did they know at the time they had been given contaminated blood? Or did the persons partner get left thinking that they had cheated on them and got aids?

If this is the stuff we find out about, imagine what else has gone on
