Conte has a dig at City & United

Chelsea won the PL two seasons ago, eight points ahead of City. They'd have been a lot closer to Leicester last season had Maureen not made such a dick of himself.
Conte and the club have spent very well (Kante etc) but lets not pretend he's taken a bunch of no-hopers to the verge of a double.

The article was written by John Cross. He was the reason I stopped buying the Mirror 4 years ago. The guys a knob who never misses a chance to put us down or mention money spent. I did email him a few times, but he was probably busy getting pissed on his expense account to reply to me. He came from under the same stone as Jamie Jackson. Useless lazy journalist and tosser.
He's another bitter gooner in the Perry Groves mould.

Nothing like a good laugh first thing in the morning. We'll have King Herod running a symposium next week on child care, and Ash the Crash organising a conference on how professional footballers should respect the game. Did Conte scour the southern leagues and get these players for a snip? Yet another manager who turns out to be a Conte. Have I spelt that correctly? ****e? Cante? Canute?

Over 1 billion Chelsea owe Roman Abramovich and rising with the Stadium in the pipe line.. well at least its 0% interest free.

Our summer spending will benefit us for the next ten years, not one.

Sane, Jesus, Stones, Gundogan (fitness permitted) - we've not even started with them.

I think Conte is specifically talking about his time in England, referencing teams that have spent more than Chelsea last summer (just 2 teams, City and United). I think he is wrong to lump ourselves in with Spurs and Arsenal, as we're far closer to City and United in terms of our spending than Spurs/Arsenal, but I guess he is not wrong to point out that spending lots of money doesn't necessarily guarantee success, using City and United as examples of this, though I think it's a bit "captain obvious" from Conte on that front. Everyone is well aware that spending money alone brings no guarantees.

You are also right that some of the players City have bought have been investments in potential. If managed correctly, Sane, Stones, Sterling, Jesus etc will be helping you to success for years to come.

I knew there was a bellend just waiting to sneak out from under that hair transplant

You could just tell... it was just a matter of time
