Conte has a dig at City & United

As much as i don't like spurs i would love it if they did to the chavs what we did in 2012 and grab the league on the last day

I think you City fans are very divided on who you want to win the title.

Cannot see spuds winning the league. Saturday would have hurt them badly.

I must say I hope they don't either.

I'm with you, hate spuds with a passion.

Hope Chelsea win the league and gooners the cup, just so arsene gets a new contract, hindering le arse for a while longer.

Good manager Conte and a likeable bloke, you can't really argue that us and the rag toss pots have spent lots for little return over the last few years. If true that Pep will have the biggest say in transfers then we may improve next year although it will mean another load of money spent. Both clubs have suffered from employing people in the dof/chief exec roles that are pretty shit.

I think Conte is specifically talking about his time in England, referencing teams that have spent more than Chelsea last summer (just 2 teams, City and United). I think he is wrong to lump ourselves in with Spurs and Arsenal, as we're far closer to City and United in terms of our spending than Spurs/Arsenal, but I guess he is not wrong to point out that spending lots of money doesn't necessarily guarantee success, using City and United as examples of this, though I think it's a bit "captain obvious" from Conte on that front. Everyone is well aware that spending money alone brings no guarantees.

You are also right that some of the players City have bought have been investments in potential. If managed correctly, Sane, Stones, Sterling, Jesus etc will be helping you to success for years to come.
its like peter Sutcliffe giving a speech on how to treat a lady ,he's done fuck all wrong for a few years as well,
however ,this sounds like a sneaky question then turned into a headline from the scum press pack.

Maybe the **** should just keep his mouth shut. Nothing worse than sniping at rival clubs.
Looks like we have the new Mourihno ;-)

For what it's worth:

Some facts:

Net spend by Club over the last 5 years

At Number 1 - Man City £403m
At Number 2 - Man Utd £393m
At Number 3 - Arsenal £206m (who'd have thought that?)
At Number 4 - Chelsea £192m
At Number 5 - West Ham £125m (you what??)

Make of that what you will

Jesus......those amounts are quite obscene however when you add players salaries......Jesus...
