Didnt even know this existed until i seen a video on it.If you have worked at a few jobs you might have a lost pension pot that you are unaware of.I found one for myself and also my wife.Also my workmate found one for himself and his partner worth a few quid.Contact hmrc on 0300 200 3500 and ask them to check if you have any contracted out pensions and who they are with.Then simply contact them and ask to send pension pack to you you can cash in at 55 or leave it longer but definately worth the call.Or log onto hrmc website it will state your pension forecast amount but scroll down if it says you have been contracted out you have one.and worth the call to see who its with.

Just found out my COPE pension has a value of £43790.10 sat with Phoenix Life.

HMRC, check your state pension and halfway down that page they will say if you have opted out of SERPS.

If you have, it will give you your COPE weekly pension and from there get digging, it’s your money.

To the OP @Mancityphilfo2000 - I'm sure I have a couple of pensions I'm unable to trace......will it assist with this??

Just found out Im contracted out but the cope figure is only £15 a week. Will have to ring the gov number to see who the pension is with because I ain't got a clue. Not sure if they have that info.

BTW contracting out of serps was a misselling issue and you can get compensation for it.

I wasn’t aware that HMRC had the ability to point people towards ‘forgotten’ pension providers, so it will be interesting to see how people get on.
Despite obvious scepticism pension providers will try to track lost policyholders using their NI nimber - @blueinsa seems to be a positive example of this. Good luck in your searches!

That could very easily mean you have a pot of circa £20k sat somewhere mate.

100% worth chasing down.
