Cook interview in tomorrows times

the gym equipment may not be premier League standard but its goo enough for Gaz.....he is having his garage converted into a gym and all th old equipment and plasma tv's from Carrington have been shipped over to his house tight arse git! well I suppose he can claim he is recycling them.
seriously though, he seems intent on bringing the club closer to the fans, as it used to be in te old days, which can only be good, especially if it brings some of the big time charlies down to earth a bit mxing with fans at supporters club meetings.

“Mark had an appraisal of his performance for the year, like any employee. We didn't fill in forms, but we talked about challenges. When you go through that process of review, names come up, but that is only ever done internally. There was no need to take that process externally because we have a manager in place that we're very happy with. We have never talked to José Mourinho or anyone else.

Well you all obviously liked it but it has left me scratching my head. Just what the fuck is this comment all about? Read it, read it again.

"Names come up, but that is only ever done internally"

What kind of guff is this? In an employees appraisal, you don't say "We've considered replacing you with Mr X". So he's obviously talking about an appraisal which Hughes was not involved in. One where he was discussed by the board. On the one hand he is saying they are delighted with Hughes. Well why did "Names Come Up" then? If they were so delighted they wouldn't be talking about other managers, would they? And why the hell has he named Mourniho? Dare I say it, is he confirming the little story doing the rounds that Mourinho said No?

He's got a loose mouth, our Gary, I'm afraid. From the patronising comments about Hughes early on, where he said he worked within his comfort zone, through his stupid comments about a 12 team Premier League, to the idiotic "they bottled it" comment.

He doesn't inspire me, I think he's unprofessional and a bit of a bullshit merchant.

I don't give a fuck if he's a nice guy and has a beer with the fans, he's supposed to be the number one man at the club. That article confirms my doubts about him.

Hmm should I lick Garry or Mark's bum first whilst pulling the knife out of Sven's back?

Someone is using a variation of your username with capital letters, very confusing. Get 'em banned ;)

Nice interview, in 40 years of being a City fan I can't remember a more exciting time and more optimistic future.
I can't honestly understand how some City fans are complaining.
Agreed !00% stony

it's just an article.

none of the comments are harmful.

I have doubts about him too, but he is just not ever going to be another anodyne stuffed suit who trots out perfectly judged lies. maybe some are judging him on his style rather than the substance of his work. fans do connect to him, and there arent many football administrators who can claim that. it could be a very positive attribute. we have to judge him on our achievements over the next year or so.

Ever get the feeling youre getting spun bullshit by a pr merchant.

I trust cook is doing a good job behind the scenes but his interviews always leave me worried about him.

Absolutely no need to show disrespect to the work done by Sven who acted with a whole lot class in his time. And no need to slag the players publicly.

But it seems to be his way. Milan, Sven, players - always someone else to blame when things dont go to plan.

Cook always comes over very well at the forums, believe me he is respected by everyone else.

When he hears of something he is not happy with they all duck, look how the fiasco of raising the prices for the last 16 of the uefa cup was dealt with.

Full stadium, £5 per ticket - he gets the job done and true to his word.

Dont forget Clarkie at the last forum - treated to a day to remember because he bought Uefa Cup final tickets and Club didnt make it.

Cook will get the job done.

PS if your reading Gary, I will be happy to be invited to South Afica with the team just pm me!!!!

A good read and has lifted my sprits, Cooke is what weve been missing he comes across as a man who says it in lay mans talk.
