can't believe how mediocre Brazil are, and in general most of the teams in this competition. South America is meant to be passionate about football, bringing through extraordinary talent and playing an attacking, vibrant brand of football.
Chile are tidy, Peru have impressed and Argentina have dominated games without reaching anywhere near the level they can, but otherwise it's been so mediocre.
Just seems like the standard of footballer from traditional nations is declining, no Spain at the U21, Germany thrashed without being impressive, and this.

Is it now time for all the media, and fans over the age of 35/40(?) to stop going on about how brilliant Brazil are? They have been woeful for quite some time now, and I really can't remember the last time I saw them actually play 'beautiful' football - probably the 80s.

Another reason for Messi to win the Ballon d'Or (watches all C.Ronaldo fans dismiss it as a 2nd rate competition)
Have to disagree there. Don't think there has been a standout team.
Argentina seem the more orgainsed and i want them to win, but best team by a mile ?, i think not.
