Copa Del Rey

Betis have won in the shootout 4-3.

1-1 in normal and after extra time.

Keeper got to Joaquin's penalty but it was too powerful.

Only one player missed, it was an awful side-foot scoop aimed at top right corner, that went wide and over the bar.
 
I like Pellegrini, glad he won.

our old goalie Joel Robles plays for Betis. There’s some cute pictures on Instagram with him and his family holding the trophy.

So hear me out, but I actually think they’re mostly right today, just very wrong the rest of this saga.

For anyone unfamiliar the story so far -

- Official Real Madrid TV run videos on how the referees for the cup final tomorrow are bent and biased against them.

- That gets disseminated into the Real Madrid fan base at large by news articles, social media etc. So now the 30% of Spains population that are Real Madrid fans all think he’s crooked and make his life hell.

- Referee does the standard press conference before a game, gets asked about it and breaks down in tears about how hard it’s been and the threats against him and how his son is being bullied by Madrid fans at school.

- Everyone in Spain reacts with sympathy towards him and condemn Real Madrid, except Real who say this conduct is unacceptable and they need new referees for the game or else they won’t play or do any pre-match duties.


The thing is, as much as they have been complete cunts and should get a heavy punishment because RMTV does this every week - they’re not wrong that the referee should probably be replaced. It’s kind of impossible to be impartial in a match where 1 team has incited threats against your family and the other team has not, and at the very least this man cannot be in great shape to referee a final when his life is in crisis. And there is so much attention on it now that every decision he makes will be micro analysed 10x.

Real should get punished for causing this, the league should bring in a new ref team.

But by changing the officials you're allowing them to dictate who officiates their games - they won't stop at him if they're allowed to do this
