I have been picking up lots of fruit from the Spar on Oxford Road lately and as a result have been finding myself with plenty of copper change, which in all honesty is a pain in the arse.

Since I upgraded from my zip up Ellesse wallet my mum got me when I was 13, I now have to put my change in my pocket, which is a pain in itself, but it's worth it when carrying coins of a value of 5p and upwards, but those rusty brown copper things are just a waste of my time

Don't get me wrong, I'm tighter than cramp, but I just don't think it's worth having the 1 or 2p's weighing me down and holding me back as I venture through the mystical journey of life. I've been throwing the copper away as soon as I leave the shop, but folk keep coming u to me and pointing out that I've 'dropped' my change (I've not dropped it, I've thrown it away!). Obviously with me being so kind and generous I'd give my copper change to a charity box by the till (I'd keep the silver change mind) but this Spar doesn't seem to have one, so I was jus wondering what you lot do with yours and if anyones got any decent ideas, cheers

We haven't had 1 and 2c coins for almost twenty years, thankfully. And now even 5c coins are bloody annoying. I'm the same as you, I'll often throw perfectly good money away because it pisses me off.

keep it and get a big bottle or a tub. Put all your coppers in there every day, then in 2 years time take it to the bank and you'll be glad you saved all those 1ps & 2ps! Sainsburys also have a change machine where you can put all your coin in and get it back in cash of the not 1p and 2p variety.

I collect all my 1, 2 & 5ps in a brown bag on the desk at work. Last year I gave them all to charity (about £30), this year I'm tempted to go to the bank, get it changed and then buy my daughters something.

someone at my work does that but sticks anything up to 20p in, goes and buys champagne for christmas at the end of the year and always ends up with about 3 bottles!

I hate it aswell, i even resent carrying 10ps around with me unless i really need change for something i.e. car parking.

I've got a bag on my windowceil of about £15's worth of 5p's and about £5's worth of 1s & 2s.

where the fck do you get change from? It can't be from buying a round at the pub. x

I had a friend once who saved up all his 2ps and hung them from his bits, it gave him an extension of 7inches
