Cornwall (St Ives/Lands End/Salcombe)

If you're driving then i would recommend Polperro and Clovelly for a day trip, stunning places.
Padstow is really good but beware of the smell of Cornish Pasties, everywhere you go you will smell them, and gain a stone in weight.

Ten miles down the road from me. St. Ives is real nice and always sunny even when 5 miles away it's not. Minnack is cool to go and watch a performance but leave plenty of time to get there and back cos the traffic this time of year is shocking. Lands End is a rip off, you shouldn't have to shell out to see all those types of things but hey ho. Lizards pretty similar but no-one owns it so youcan go and check it out for nowt. Get your Pastys from Phillps in Hayle and they even sell'em frozen so you can take them home with you.

Most importantly wear you City gear with pride cos 90% of people are rags!

Do you have to pay top go to Lands End????????????
Believe so. Mad innit

Generally I would argue that Rugby Union is much bigger than football down there.

50/50 but most like a bit of everything.

You have to pay about a fiver to park at lands end, theres nowt there, go about 4 ish and its free, its worth going to have your photo taken at the sign

Food wise I'd do to the Porthminster Cafe http://www.porthminstercafe.co.uk/ which is basically on the beach in St Ives. Me and the wife went there a couple of years ago and it was very good.

We also stayed in Padstow and I would say that Rick Steins chippy is better than his over-priced restaurant (or at least the one we ate in).

If the sun shines there's fewer better places to be than Cornwall. Good luck with the weather because it's fucking depressing and boring if it's raining.

Makes me sound like a right boring **** but we went on a tour of a tin mine which was very interesting. The life expectancy of a Cornish tin miner was about 26. Not much health and safety in the 18th century.

edit: just looked at the Porthminster cafe menu - don't remember it being that expensive although I did have more money than sense back then. Actually I still do but just a lot less money and the same lack of sense.

far better places to see than Lands End. Around the Lizard to Mullion Cove is a superb walk. Cliffs and beaches north of Polzeath and south of Padstow are my favourite walks/places on earth. Defo gona have my ashes scattered there

Padstow is nice off season a bit. Chippy there is worth the extra money. Same with Boscastle, Lost Gardens, Eden Project.

There is a tiny Gents Barbers in St Ives that is a shrine to Manchester City. I couldn't believe it when I went in a few years ago. The owner watched the 1956 FA Cup Final in a houseful of Birmingham City fans and that made him become a City fan. It's floor to ceiling City stuff.

Land's End is a bit of a let down in all honestly but worth doing so you say you have been their.
