Ten miles down the road from me. St. Ives is real nice and always sunny even when 5 miles away it's not. Minnack is cool to go and watch a performance but leave plenty of time to get there and back cos the traffic this time of year is shocking. Lands End is a rip off, you shouldn't have to shell out to see all those types of things but hey ho. Lizards pretty similar but no-one owns it so youcan go and check it out for nowt. Get your Pastys from Phillps in Hayle and they even sell'em frozen so you can take them home with you.

Most importantly wear you City gear with pride cos 90% of people are rags!

Do you have to pay top go to Lands End????????????
Believe so. Mad innit

Generally I would argue that Rugby Union is much bigger than football down there.

50/50 but most like a bit of everything.

RWC: Faint chance of success trust me.

Anyone but the chokers.

Cornwall is a great place. If the sun shines there's nowhere better.

You could hire a bike at Waybridge and cycle along the Camel river to Padstow.

The Lizard is lovely and much better than Lands End.

If you go to Polperro have a pint at the Crumplehorn Inn, it's a great pub.

Loved it when i was there last year. Stayed in the St Ives Holiday Park. Tented it but you can rent caravans / statics. Right on the beach...

Places to visit? St Ives, St Michael's Mount, Padstow, Tintagel, Chysauster Iron Age Village, Land's End etc etc.

Some good tips there.

Salcombe is in Devon mate and a bit of a schlep from Lands End etc. You could have a nice quiet week staying and mooching in that area round the South Hams area Kingsbridge/ Thurlestone/ Bantham (Sloop Inn). Neighbouring Bigbury and Burgh island (Pilchard Inn). Slapton Sands where they practised the D-day landings and Blackpool (yes really) if its sunny for the beach. Over to Dartmouth. Dartmoor nearby.

Yes go to the Minack theatre if you're going to drive further afield. Amazing venue if you get a clear evening. Wouldn't bother with Lands End but head for nearby Sennen Cove/ Whitesands bay. Chysauster a great shout. Maybe a tin mine. Then a pint or two in the Tinners arms in Zennor.

St Michaels Mount. Had one of my best times ever Kayaking off Marazion here while the sun was setting behind the Mount then off to the pub. Happy days.

Day trip to the Scillies on the ferry from Penzance worth the trip on a nice day. Easy cycling round St Marys. Beautiful again.

St Ives really beautiful too but a real honeypot and probably better out of season imo. Great to try or go surfing though. Tate disappointing but plenty of good artists all round if you like that sort of thing. Dolphins off the beach when we were there!

Helston - Blue Anchor worth the detour. Try the Spingo! (Get the other half to drive back).

Lizard great for exploring too but you can try to pack too much in.

It's a lot to pack in unless you don't mind spending lots of time touring in the car. Maybe look to stay somewhere half way between Salcombe and West Cornwall and give you days out in all directions? Maybe B&B at the Blue Anchor in Helston ;-)

Enjoy.

tip..... park up in sennen cove ,walk up the hill to the huers hut, follow the cliff path along to lands end, easy ,no pay,do what you want....walk takes about twenty mins and is spectacular!!!
Another great place to see is cape cornwall, once thought to be lands end, until the onset of gps etc,its down the hill from st just and if you catch it right ,its a smashing place!!
porthcurno beach is a gem,if the suns out look at the colour of the sea!!,and the minack is a good visit, traffics ok out of school hols season!!
Go to kynance cove on the lizard...out of this world!! and actually in the village of lizard is annes pasty shop,,,THE best pasties in cornwall!!
Penzance is well worth a look, some great pubs and et down to the harbour, you will see some characters lol, also get along to long rock beach towards marazion, overlooking st micheals mount stunning!!
wouldnt bother with the eden project, its a rip off and car hell, better off driving down to meva, or along to fowey an polruan
wherever you go theres some absolutley stunning scenery, and the people are pretty nice too....enjoy!!

I have stayed in Porthcurno a few times (home of the minack)

Cheers Balti

The plan is 3 nights in st ives and then the drive to salcombe for 3 nights there. By the sounds of things st ives and the surrounding area would keep us occupied for the full 6 nights though.

Blutone - thanks for the tip

Bluevengence - that beach looks mint. will have to try and get there

Kynance Cove is my kids favourite Cornwall beach (and there are a few good ones). Its about 1 mile from Lizard and about a 5 minute walk down from a National trust car park.

Minack Theatre is fantastic with views out over Porthcurno Beach. Unbelievable setting for a play. Read up about the lady who built it to fulfill her dream, an amazing story.

Like others have said, St Ives is lovely but can get busy.
If you get the weather the Cornwall is fantastic, so much to do. We've been about the last 8 to 10 years and never tire of it.
St Michaels Mount near Penzance is worth a trip.Time it with the tides as the causeway is covered at high tide for several hours. Tried to get an arty black and white pic of it but it doesn't do it justice.

Lands End is very commercialised and not really worth it. We parked up there and walked along the coast path to Nanjizel beach (about 30 minutes with breath taking views) which is a real hidden gem and quiet because it is has no facilities and no parking nearby.
Sennen Cove is about the same distance away in the opposite direction (North Coast) and is a nice village with a big beach.
Think you'll need more than 3 days in Cornwall mate!!

Oh I forgot. Add the Eden project to that and also the seal sanctuary and Goonhilly Downs.
