There was a City storyline in '68 or '69 that lasted a few weeks. Can't remember what the storyline was about, but it included footage shot on the scoreboard end during a match. I was on the Kippax and remember seeing all the fans bunched up around the actors.

It seems to be the only part of Manchester unaffected by the sport except for the dog's name. Bizarre.

It's because the episodes are pre-recorded 2 or 3 weeks in advance so discussing the previous weekend's matches is a bit tricky! In the early days when the episodes went out near-live they did film a scene at Maine Rd IIRC. The guy who played Stan Ogden was a big blue in both senses of the word!

city v leicester 1967-68. the characters & some extras were congregated behind the goal at the scoreboard end a while before the game started. every now & then they let out a cheer. they went before the game started. i wish they'd come back. city won 6-0 that day & the episode featured footage of the game.

fred gee (rovers barman) was a blue & often mentioned city. amanda barrie was a blue too. michelle's lad is a blue in the programme & real life. mostly rags on the cast now though.

Les Battersby is/was blue

Not in the show he wasn't. Whenever he went to the football he always had a green and white hat and scarf.

Liam was a blue though.

Les definitely is a Blue, or at least was if that has changed? But I have vivid memories of an episode where he was watching the derby in a blue pub with a City shirt on, yelling "come on you Blues".

Sad a 24yo Aussie has even a passing interest in Corrie, I blame my mother, that and my dreams of living in greater Manchester.

He's very good - drinks water. Almost makes me feel guilty.
