Nicola Sturgeon noted that 98% of all care home residents have HAD the vaccine not 'been offered it' which is the words that England used to describe a lower number.

As she argued - being offered it is not much use as a figure. Only actually having it matters!

It's certainly not the clearest wording that could be used - I don't know what makes a care home in England ineligible, although it's obviously reasonable that some care homes might be off limits due to an outbreak at times.

On the other hand, I'd think it there were lots of care homes that hadn't been done when it's stated as such, it would be on the news as headline news.

I find that English wording rather odd too as it creates the impression they are trying to hide the fact many may be declining.

She adds that aside from the 98% care home residents who have had the vaccine 88% of staff now have too.

And 80% of all over 80s living in the community have too.
Surely the government can't be blamed if people refuse the vaccine but if many in England are doing so why are so many in Scotland not?

Scottish Vaccinations Update:

575, 897 first dose vaccinations - that is just 9628 in the day if my sums are right. Very low.

Nicola Sturgeon says she has asked her teams to find out if there is a way to speed up Sunday numbers which dip each week. But this seems the lowest so far even on a Sunday.

She is getting quite a bit of flack from journalists saying NW England is already vaccinating under 70s. Why are Scotland behind.

My mum hasn’t been vaccinated yet in NW and neither have my in laws- all 70-75.

Because it is very haphazard.

My brother is two years younger than me in the 65 to 70 group and lives in a different GM Borough but he has now had two appointments for two different days and I am two years older and about 5 miles away from him and have not heard a thing.

There is no no coordinated strategy by the looks of it. It is a postcode lottery as to when they get round to you.

That's an amazing stat. Great news. I hope is mirrored across the UK care sector.

I have asked you politely a 100 times not to quote me with digs ,nearly a whole year now , add to the conversation or dont bother , troll elsewhere

when i can get through a day on here not reading you being petty and rude to others i will stop 'digging' you out. i ignore you as much as poss to be honest, but you take up much of a great thread desperately arguing with everyone.

recent days i've posted on here about the stats, my child's development during Covid and today posted about Australia's handling. so i'm very much on here to discuss Covid - not troll anyone. stop being rude to me and others and you will get no digs from anyone.
