To the best of your knowledge, has the catch up on cases which you noted yesterday continued on to today per chance? Positivity going the right way at least, and that pressure at hospitals must thankfully be easing a good bit such is the drops we've had!
Not had chance to see the briefing today being otherwise engaged getting stuck with a needle. But I think catch ups on Tuesday are not that unusual and the Gov UK just says this dated day before yesterday:-

Incomplete number of cases for Scotland

An issue was identified with data submissions for cases in Scotland overnight which affected the completeness of the newly reported. Any backlog is reported in the next publication.

More on Scotland vaccinations:

29, 908 - 99.7% of older care home residents and 93% of all care home residents

40, 553 - 90% of older care home staff and 78% of all care home staff

239, 095 - 96% of people over the age of 80 living in the community but not in care homes

142, 474 - 75% of people 75 to 79 living in the community but not in care homes

103, 319 - 37% of people 70 to 74 living in the community but not in care homes
Surely we’ll see a significant lowering of deaths in the coming days/weeks based on these figures.

Going to be very interesting but nervy at the same time.

Thank you. Hopefully if there's been a bit of a backlog it will be reflected in a lower figure tomorrow. I realise figures will fluctuate a bit but just wondered as you pointed out yesterday on data if this was still continuing and perhaps an explanation for small signs of a platuea over the past couple of days when compared week on week. Thanks again!

Northern Ireland data:

10 deaths - was 17 last week

275 cases - was 447 last week

At 16.5% positive (v low by NI standards) - was 19.3% last week

Weekly rolling cases total 2685 - down from 2921 yesterday - was 3517 last week

Care home outbreaks 90 - down from 94 yesterday - was 115 last week

Patients 579 - down from 598 yesterday - was 716 last week

Ventilated 57 - up from 54 yesterday - was 58 last week

TIP: If anyone is feeling slightly depressed by the doom and gloom on the news and so decides to change the channel.....do NOT put go to channel 4 because 'A Place in the Sun' makes you feel worse!!

there is always a lag the vaccine takes two weeks to be fully effective and people take an average of 10 days to die (horrendous as that sounds).
i fucking hate COVID

Just watched it they are repeats, on next a new life in the sun, new episodes. Reminders of a past life bloody sad. All those new businesses must be suffering with the pandemic and few people will be buying homes abroad anyway due to Brexit.

I’ve already had it and was thankfully fine but the other night I dreamt I had it bad and couldn’t breath, I woke up gasping for breath.

That was bad enough, can’t imagine what it’s like when you’ve actually got it bad in reality.

This virus isnt going away .. I have read, and suspect, we will have joint flu and covid jabs henceforth..the real worry will be a massive flu rebound next winter. Watch the Aussie stats this summer, their winter.
Out of interest, how many on this forum would prefer to specify which Covid jab they had ? Are people happy to accept what they are given when the stats seem variable at best, and should we be given the option to choose ?

More on England hospital deaths:

3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v Today

842 / 103 NW / 12%

875 / 109 NW / 13%

767 / 112 NW / 15%

509 / 109 NW / 21% TODAY

As you can see the NW % is going up.

There is always a legacy of weekend deaths that do not get reported in the NW v other regions and has been like that from day one last March. But it is still a big week to week percentage rise that looks a little worrying.

Though as mentioned earlier these deaths are from weeks old infections when Merseyside was sky high (it is now around a third the level it was at then). Yet almost half those NW deaths are from Merseyside so the tragic legacy of when it was up there are new year and just after - not now.
