From looking at the people who are anti-vax and anti-mask, the last places that should be open are Gyms. Can't see them wiping the equipment down! Not everyone likes running or walking
My point is that properly managed gyms should be open. I totally disagree with the logic of of shutting them.
oh sit down,oh sit down, sit down next next to meI'd be happy with a place near the bar and a pint of OBB in the "Sun in September" in Burnage right now.
I wouldn’t go near a gym if they paid me , how can they be safe with people sweating , breathing faster and handling the equipment constantly, I know it’s wiped down but not for me , out on my mountain bike in the fresh air and country roads .Matt - seriously you haven't a fucking clue - the other day on the Liverpool pre match thread you stated it was scandalous Pep was not playing a striker in such a big game. That comment aged well. It seems you know better than Pep and Chris Whitty now?
Of course Gyms shouldn't be open. People can go for walks and runs to maintain fitness.
Yeah, I agree that there’s not much comfort in those death figures. Whichever way you look at them, they’re depressing. It’s the case numbers - which continue to drop like a stone - that I’m taking heart from. It's a sad time when over a 1,000 deaths is considered a positive as it's a third down. Just hope that by the end of the month we can get deaths down to less than 350 per day and cases to nearer 1,000 or less. Then by the end of March deaths down to double digits and cases in the low 100's. Some real positive signs that the light at the end of the tunnel is beginning to slowly move nearer and nearer.
You could state a case for well managed anything to open. Hairdressers, pubs. Surely people can sort out an exercise regime without a gymNot everyone likes running or walking

Had too much good news today?
Sadly here comes some not so good.
Every region goes down with the big cases drop today. Some very low scores.
But the North West goes up! The only one and is the most infected in England today.
With the NW death numbers today as high as they have ever been as a percentage of the England total - having the most cases of every region too sadly reveals that - although this region has been falling too - this is the area right now with the biggest problem in relative terms.
Wonder if Westminster will notice?
It is all but certain now North West will be top of the weekly regional Pop Score table- though as that is calculated on 5 days old data you will almost certainly not hear about that for now.
Do you seriously think the obese people of this country are clamouring for gyms to reopen?Of all the things we can't do the gym ban is farcical.
Its proven that we are the most obese nation in Europe and thus why our death rate is horrendous, yet these clowns shut places where people can get fit.
Properly managed gyms would be fine with a booking in system and social distancing.
Yet another thing they have banned. Absolutely disgusting.
