Well said. They lead the cheerleading for tougher restrictions and penalties everytime I've caught it. Of course that's easy to do when you live in a property with plenty of space both indoors and out and earn in a year what most people do in ten. I'm not going to write what I'd do to a lot of these people as I'd go into a very dark place indeed.

You can't deny people the basics of humanity forever without a backlash. Even the poor sods in North Korea who face awful torture and death if they don't comply still kick back. Some of the awful scenes I have seen here at care homes and the behaviour of our own police force in certain situations have made many realise how quickly our freedoms and rights can be taken away, it is unsettling.

I don't have the statistics but many thousands die every year on our roads and from diseases caused by obesity, alcohol and smoking, but we don't ban any of them. Governments cry about the strain on the NHS but still don't ban them. People have a choice. Now if we've vaccinated everyone that wants it and done all we can we have to give people the choice to live a free life again. The virus is here forever, like the flu and other diseases, we will never eradicate it so we have to live with it. If people still want to isolate as much as they can they can do so,let the rest of us live our lives. We all die anyway and all we have at the moment is a joyless, stagnant, loveless form of life , which isn't living it's existing.

I hope you're correct, feels a reach though. Literally everyone I know in my life is more miserable/fed up than they've probably ever been. I can imagine that goes for pretty much everyone else on here too. I can't see how that doesn't have very negative consequences sadly.

Yeah, that's the obvious conclusion to reach, and I'd have guessed the same.

But the evidence doesn't seem to support it, thankfully. We're all just miserable.

It's a mad lottery depending on your surgery by all accounts. I had mine three weeks ago but a girl I went to school with who has serious health issues has been told at least six weeks yet. I had mine before my mate who's five years older.

No health concerns, had my 40 year MOT last year and was fine.

The only thing Incan think is that I care for my 93 year old grandma and she is still waiting for it as she has a history of anaphylaxis.

I do not see why telling the facts about vaccine supply numbers in next few weeks is a political ploy.

Of course, Scottish nationalist ministers do sometimes play the nationalist card. Its why they exist.

But there was not one peep of that here. It was simple statement of fact the public of Scotland AND the UK are entitled to know.

And blaming the timing of the press conference as a way to get one up on Boris is surely silly as nothing stopped them going on Breakfast TV and announcing it then or scheduling press conferences at 11 am if needs be - not 12 20 pm (as Scotland do every week day and have for months and months so hardly difficult to counter).

The UK government call them at about 3 or 4 hours notice as it is.

For me this is not about politics at all. Its about being clearly told what is going on and why that matters. And it was entirely about Scotland. No idea to this moment what the England position is. We are just left guessing until told. That is the real problem here. Clarity.

Fully agree. In the Netherlands, the RIVM publishes how many people have been vaccinated and how much each supplier has delivered that week. Going to be a while but at least it’s transparent.
