Wow well done, 57 and expecting 7/8 weeks yet.

What area are you in? Any underlying health issues?

I‘m up near Shaw. I’ll ask what the score is tomorrow when I’m having it. Maybe Oldham and Rochdale are being targeting because of their rubbish figures throughout the past few months, although pretty decent at the moment.

It's a mad lottery depending on your surgery by all accounts. I had mine three weeks ago but a girl I went to school with who has serious health issues has been told at least six weeks yet. I had mine before my mate who's five years older.
I'm in group 4 due to shielding and got invited by an NHS letter. It said that I could either book at a vaccination clinic or wait for my GP to call me in, but I decided to book the clinic even though it was further away, because they were open until late (8pm ish). Had it done last night at Bolton's stadium. I'm thinking it may be down to localised, even regional, capacity rather than all the way down to GP practice level.

I think it is a good strategy to target carers of the most vulnerable as the ability for the NHS to send carers out to assist has been compromised by Covid.

Indeed with the need for the most vulnerable to shield pretty much the only way they are likely to catch it is via those family who look after them round the clock.

I was a full time carer for many years to my mum who was fully bed bound after a massive stroke so needed 24/7 care. That's why I got a free flu jab 20 years ago when too young to otherwise qualify. If she was still alive I would certainly have been expecting for her to get priority given her vulnerability and I would have had to take her there if they could not come to her and risk catching it when out too so it would have been wrong not to do both at once just for an extra dose.

I am sure common sense is being applied on personal circumstances that local GPs will know about, of course. and this is a factor in making decisions over prioritising. And who to vaccinate alongside the most vulnerable.

I hope you're correct, feels a reach though. Literally everyone I know in my life is more miserable/fed up than they've probably ever been. I can imagine that goes for pretty much everyone else on here too. I can't see how that doesn't have very negative consequences sadly.

For me it's gone a bit beyond fed up. At times I feel I'm a ticking timebomb. I had bleeding on the front part of my brain which for a while resulted in explosions of anger for what to others seemed minor reasons. Once I'd researched it and understood it I've learned to control it and it does seem to have eased with time. Before I did though I had some quite amusing looking back now episodes, which included chasing a couple of people that triggered me by their behaviour and attitude in the street. Thankfully they ran faster than me ( Well one was on a bike lol) otherwise I may be in a prison cell now.

At the moment I'm starting to feel flashes of those feelings resurfacing and I fear like all major incidents, people comment after the event why someone reacted as they did for something so minor, when actually it had been months of repressed stress that finally broke.

Ahh well deep breaths......

I just got a call out of the blue. It took me so much by surprise I actually thought it was a scammer at first.
