3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v Today:- 1554 v 1243 v 937 v 736 - Still on a downward path.

Pop Score is cases across whole pandemic v 100,000 people - rises daily but lower the better.

Weekly Pop is same measure across last 7 days only. Can rise or fall depending on if more cases or less occur today v the same day last week.

Either way Up is bad, down is good.

Manchester 148 – up from 139. Total 47, 856. Weekly 1135. Pop score up 27 to 8656. Weekly Pop down 8 to 205.

Wigan 78 down from 96. Total cases 26, 086. Weekly 604. Pop score up 24 to 7937. Weekly Pop down 2 to 184.

Tameside 63 down from 75. Total cases 16, 033. Weekly 414. Pop score up 28 to 7079. Weekly Pop down 4 to 176.

Oldham 53 down from 67. Total cases 20, 811. Weekly 437. Pop score up 22 to 8777. Lowest Pop rise of the day. Big week to week drop means - Weekly Pop down 24 to 184.

Bury 52 - down from 72. Total cases 15, 485. Weekly 399. Pop score up 27 to 8108. Weekly Pop down 5 to 209.

Trafford 50 - down from 64. Total cases 15, 009. Weekly 346. Lowest weekly total in GM still. Pop score up 24 to 6326. Lowest rise of the day yet again. Trafford picks up only 1 on Stockport's fast dwindling overall pop score lead today but it is now just 39 and looks sure to fall to Trafford along with all the other 'best in GM' titles in the coming week Weekly Pop down 6 to 148. Best weekly Pop score of course.

Salford 224 v 260 // down 36

Bolton 275 v 274 // UP 1

Most of GM doing well and still falling week to week. Bolton has stabilised but still higher than the rest.

Trafford pulling clear and heading for first GM borough sub 100 but four others with it in the 100s now and Rochdale all but making it six in total. Even Manchester is maybe a day away given its run of low numbers.

Been another good week for Greater Manchester. But especially Trafford. Now top on all measures such as lowest weekly case total and likely to take over from Stockport lowest overall Pop Score in a few days. As close now as they have ever been to doing so.

I was reading that Israel are only going to be opening facilities for those who have been vaccinated. I can see this causing problems if that happens here. Society opens up for those over a given age but not for those under for a few more months or so. I can’t see that catching on here. Might not be a reliable source though so who knows.

No way can this happen. I know the ones who fall into the vulnerable category on here wouldn’t be happy about that. They spent the last 10 months shooting anyone down that said we should shield the vulnerable and let the rest get on with things. It’s the same situation but reversed.

They won’t open things until everyone has at least been offered an injection.

great , good thanks. your work is open and you are on 100% pay so maybe if you are in that position you might want lockdown to continue as it does not affect you financially

if you are a barber with a small shop , own a small shop a hotel , or restaurant , or supply those businesses you may be keener to open up society so you can work again as hard as you and also get 100% pay as well.

i am not saying you are not working hard I am just saying it’s easier to want lockdown to continue than it is for a barber, chef , hotel owner etc etc etc , many of whom are facing financial hardships.

it’s not a question of who does the most worthy work , it’s probably the public sector , but it’s about the impact of lockdown.

Imapct of lockdown? A colleague of mine took his life two days ago. The stresses and strains of lockdown hit those earning 100% wages too.

This isn't just about money. I have a mother and stepfather who are not in great health. My dad is 69, living on his own in a place in which he knows only family, far away from all his other kids and his only brother who lives around 200 miles away. I also cannot my sister who is not even 50 who has severe liver disease. My little girl who has started a school in which she barely knows anyone and is desperate to make friends. Thing is, I am one of the lucky ones.

I doubt there are people on full pay happy about what is going on. Most of us are desperate for lockdown to come to an end.

I’ve been paid for every working day throughout the pandemic. Maybe that’s because I’ve worked every day throughout the pandemic. Same old private / public sector bollocks. Maybe the binmen, nurses, teachers, firemen should have asked to be furloughed.

I have read suggestions on social media that public sector staff should have a 20% pay cut as it would only be fair. These were serious comments too.

I think that’s the fair way of doing it but I’m not sure they will wait that long. Open for all or don’t open has to be the way though for me.

I think it’ll be open for all a few weeks after all over 50s and vulnerable have been offered the jab - with restrictions around social distancing, masks, etc, still in place.
