If you are talking first shots then no. It would mean something like 7-9 million administered doses a week but you could easily have mass vaccination centres open 24/7. It won't be a month but it will be far quicker than the government are saying. For once they are under promising and over delivering.

That 15 million in 10 weeks is from a standing start with no mass centres open and limited supply. The current rate is around 3.5 million a week so that time would have been halved at a constant rate. By the end of March supply will have improved and we will also have Moderna to roll out too.
I was thinking more in terms of having to offer every adult a single shot in the late autumn. Once the infrastructure is in place and it can be administered 24/7, I just wondered if it could be rolled out in around a month.

It won't be a month but my guess is that by the end of May all adults who want it will have had at least one shot (maybe sooner).

Anyone with catch up should watch BBC breakfast on at the moment, Chris Smith and Linda think it’s Bauld, really knowledgable, no sensationalist views, good honest positivity based on facts.
Agree. Dr Chris Smith has been on LBC spreading knowledge and positivity and answering questions simply and honestly for months now. Along with Professor Van-Tam, a massively reassuring presence.

Question. Anyone up to now been offered the vaccine but refused and wont be having it? I dont mean for medical reasons. Just bot having it.
if so 2 questions..

1) what are your reasons?
2) whats your plan moving forward ? considering it looks like we’ll just live with covid , so without being jabbed you’ll always be at risk
I suspect the only response you will get, if any, will be its none of your business.

Public Health strategies are aware of (2): it's an example of what in economics is called the Free Rider problem. i.e. it is very difficult to exclude people who haven't been vaccinated from enjoying the benefits of the Herd Immunity gained from a mass vaccination programme.

As we get into younger and potentially more sceptical (and generally less pliant) age cohorts expect a ratchetting up of Government messaging about the benefits of vaccination plus stronger suasion via Social Media tools etc. etc.

Just being honest with you. You are asking a very personal question of people, and which is a question of contention.
There is also ways of answering questions and your usual spikey defensive way aint it.

it was just a question as im interested. People may answer , they may not. But its of interest on how people who refuse it will crack on in life.

I wasnt insinuating people should be excluded, i worry more that people will exclude themselves

We will eventually wipe it out because it does not mutate fast enough (current mutations are the result of vast quantities of virus) but in the interim note that government lingo: live with it like 'flu.

So people have a choice:
  • Hide away for another 6 months
  • Get vaccinated
  • Catch it
Getting vaccinated is the path of least resistance although the people who have had it (30%), and young may decide to do nothing.
