at this rate the under 50s could be getting jabs in march..its been a bloody fantastic effort

Vaccination rollout is unbelievably good but 2nd doses are looming and the 50’s to 60’s age group is a large group. I’m 55 and it still says April 14th for me

Mine was predicted as mid February but got the text call before the end of January.

All over 50s eligible in Salford now and my wife, also 55, is booked in on Monday. All over 50s nationally who wants one will be done before the end of March. Areas that are steaming ahead like Salford will be well into the 40-49 group before second shots really kick in. March is going to be a big month for numbers and I can see 16 million plus shots being delivered.

By April we should be getting more Pfizer, the first supplies of Moderna and possibly even the Johnson & Johnson single shot vaccine too. I'm very bullish on this but the two things the government have got absolutely right now are the test and trace set up and the vaccination roll out. People can criticise many aspects of policy during the course of the pandemic but right now we are doing all the right things and we will be on the other side by summer.

Trafford 31 - down from 36. Pop score up 14 to 6581 - taking a 75 lead on Stockport for best Pop across the pandemic inside a week. Weekly cases 266 - lowest in GM here too. Weekly Pop down 4 to 113. Another best in GM for the town with all the aces right now.

Oldham 30 - down from 62. Pop score up 12 to 9104. But Trafford not having at all it own way today as Oldham just bear it to lowest case number and also had the lowest Pop score rise today. Weekly cases 334. Weekly Pop 3 to 141.

I add the Pop score across the entire pandemic too at the end per 100. This is essentially the percentage of the population in the borough who have tested positive and been recorded. So the minimum immunity acquired that way - if indeed any lasts up to a year by that route. Unrecorded cases, asymptomatic and, of course, vaccinated immunity are all on top of this base number locally.



Bury 198/ 215 / down 17 Testing positive 8.6%

Bolton 197 / 210 / down 13 Testing positive 8.4%

Stockport 178 / 162 / UP 16 Testing positive 6.7%

As you can see everyone back below 200 as Bury and Bolton have had a good few days. Stockport had a better day and fell but its week to week numbers are still up and Rochdale joined them in going the wrong way though both can get out of this if the current trend carries on for a few days. Manchester is having a fantastic few weeks and is at pop score numbers not seen in a long time after a big fall in cases lately. Oldham has had good low numbers this week too and Trafford is still falling after weeks of doing so and may yet dip below 100 in coming week.

How do we find out how if we’re eligible for the vaccine or not? I’m 50 and in Gorton but not heard anything so far. Will I just get a text off my GP surgery?
I’m not overly bothered if I don’t get it right now - it’s only a few weeks since I had Covid - but don’t want to miss out completely.

Ok, cheers. I’ll have a look. I assumed that they contact us when we’re eligible but it sounds like we may have to do a bit of leg work ourselves. I’ve no issue with that and will get on it.

Thanks, for that, I posted in the vaccine thread asking similar, on the main NHS site it says 64+, I'll check locally, I'm 61, so maybe they are moving slower round here, Northwich.

Johnson & Johnson single shot vaccine about to be submitted for MHRA approval. Based on Pfizer & AZ that takes around two weeks. 30 million doses ordered.

Had a look on Tameside NHS site doesn't seem to list any criteria or even mention the vaccination programme. Guess some areas are a lot more proactive than others
