What part of Scotland? My daughter and family live in Glasgow G12 area near the Botanical Gardens, they've been in the highest risk area all through this can't understand why, the only contact they have with other people is when they go to the shop, but they have their main shop delivered
Borders, Glasgow and Lanarkshire have stayed at a releatively high level since the Autumn and been a bit stubborn compared to the rest of Scotland, Does seem to be starting to shift now though, so hopefully will head down.

537 000 vaccinations yesterday and there is going to be a big ramp up in March. Cases will be very low by then and pressure to really open up will be ramping up to the extent people will start breaking rules more.

After musing about how sore someone's arm was after 537 vaccinations yesterday I got even more worried about where they were putting a ramp up next month. New ways of dealing with this pandemic are getting very free thinking.

But seriously I think they have factored in this probable consequence and hope it will matter less once the vulnerable have had both doses. Cases matter less when they are not proving as deadly or swamping the NHS.

That's really the end game of this virus not eliminating it entirely. Living with it in a good approximation of the old normal.

The Covid daily cases score in winter will be a bit like the hay fever numbers in Summer - there but only really being taken in if they matter to you on balance of risk.

Quite a bit higher actually :)

504,493 first shots

32,773 second shots

Definitely a concern about vaccine take-up. Case creep as much an issue in very non-diverse Corby/Rutland/Kesteven areas.
Corby has been one of the worst areas in the country, it’s not helped by local firms bussing in workers from London and other areas and putting them up in hotels, Iforce distribution for example are bringing nearly 200 workers weekly. . The local council are aware of this but are unable to stop it. They have taken it up with our MP but as yet nothing is happening to stop it.

The vaccination pace is changing the goal posts on this very quickly and making the decision to send kids back to school look a good idea.

Thanks, that makes sense. Quite a few distribution centres along the A14 corridor into Northants and Warwickshire, where cases also high. Easily forgotten how many folk still have to go to offices or warehouses to do the jobs the rest of us rely on.
