GM Weekly Pop Scores after today:~

Borough / Score Today / Score 7 days ago / up or down wk to wk/ Testing is % of local population who have tested positive for Covid over past year.

As ever with Pop scores going up is bad, going down good - the higher the number the better or worse depending on direction moving. The Pop Score is total cases in past week versus 100,000 POPulation to even out the comparison versus size and expected cases based on numbers living there.

Rochdale 125 / 119 / UP 6 Testing positive 9.2%

Tameside 117 / 111 / UP 6 Testing positive 7.7%

Salford 112 / 106 UP 6 Testing positive 8.6%

Wigan 99 / 100 / down 1 Testing positive 8.5%

Bolton 97 / 106 / down 9 Testing positive 8.7%

Stockport 97 / 87 / UP 10 Testing positive 6.9%

Oldham 96 / 87 / UP 9 Testing positive 9.3%

Manchester 94 / 77 / UP 17 Testing positive 9.2%

Bury 69 / 90 down 21 Testing positive 8.7%

Trafford 61 / 60 / UP 1 Testing positive 6.7%

No doubt the current star of GM - Bury - dropping like a stone and challenging Trafford on all fronts now. Apart from best Pop Score which at 2010 ahead of Trafford I think we can safely say it will never close whilst this thread exists.

Bolton has had a good week too.

Not been a great week for Manchester or Stockport - with I suspect school testing driving cases up.

Hopefully that will now settle down. And with both still sub 100 they are only struggling relatively speaking not in real terms.

Portugal as well now suspended AZ - pissed off as was given the nod my 86 year old mum would finally get hers this week so that’s looking shot.

a complete screw up which is just going to give anti Vaxxers a collective hard on and set us back months with the unnecessary fear this will cause. Leaves us with Pfizer really in the eu as J&J are already getting their excuses out.

From what I have read/heard the number of people who were going to get blood clots anyway far out weighs the likelihood of the AZ vaccine causing one. Furthermore the rationale behind it is flawed anyway. Its like saying you need to ban seat belts in cars because there were four incidences of people drowning in cars which ran off the road into the rive and they couldn't get out due to wearing a seatbelt. So you save 4 people and condemn tens of thousands to serious injury and death.

Already cases are ramping up on the continent - there's no chance of us being allowed or even wanting to go to places where its all closed up for a holiday - they are killing their own tourism trade.

tourism and there own reputation, many of these countries are behind on the roll out and getting a lot of anger from there own citizens. It doesn’t really make sense

I have been saying for weeks booking a foreign holiday this year is pure folly. For example Portugal came off the red list but we still aren't allowed to travel there. Put your time money and efforts into booking a staycation before the costs get too much to afford

Yeh, I wouldn’t want to fly anywhere this year anyway - it will be mayhem.

It’s not about the number of blood clots as such, it’s the type and the symptoms alongside it.

It’s absolutely the right thing to do in normal times. We aren’t in normal times though, the commodity of time isn’t one that really exists.

I have bought a really good tent. That will do me this year. Going to just fuckoff to the lakes every time it is hot.

If it fits your garden go on YT - there are plenty of survivalists who will show you how to purify water and cook roadkill over salvaged wood - you will only need to go indoors to have a pee lol
