Northern Ireland data:

0 deaths - was 2 last week

84 cases - was 138 last week

5.9% positivity - was 7.1% last week

Weekly cases total 788 - was 846 yesterday & 1066 last week

6 Care Home outbreaks - was 6 yesterday and 5 last week.

105 patients - down 7 on yesterday - was 130 last week

10 Ventilated - up 1 on yesterday - was 10 last week.

More on 41 England hospital deaths:

By region:- 14 South East, 8 NE & Yorkshire, 6 Midlands, 5 East, 4 South West, 2 London, 2 North West

7 in East Kent and 6 in Doncaster the most - there was quite a bit of backdating from end of month audits I think.

The 2 in the NW were 1 each in Chester and Manchester

Ages of the 41:- 20 - 39 (1), 40 - 59 (6), 60 - 79 (19), 80 PLUS (13)

Another lower percentage for over 80s. Been a few lately.

Scotland data:

0 deaths - was 6 last week

397 cases - was 563 last week

2.1% positivity - was 2.4% last week

No other data today. But more big falls.

Great to see those falls. I do wonder if there's 'reporting issues' with the bank holiday weekend and some bulk additions will be added in the coming weeks. Never the less, its still great to see this trajectory.

Cases week to week for the three nations with England to come is 576

Wk to wk: 1442 v 907 v 922 v 995 v 855 v 902 v 576 TODAY

Big fall after weeks of flatlining.

As Ayrshire says it is a Bank Holiday weekend but everywhere week to week the positivity has fallen so that is worth noting as it infers it is not just fewer people being tested causing the drops.

England hospital deaths wk to wk:

307 / 59 NW / 18%

257 / 40 NW / 16 % (16 % fall wk to wk)

185 / 18 NW / 10% (28% fall wk to wk)

118 / 19 NW / 16% (36% fall wk to wk)

71 / 8 NW / 11% (40% fall wk to wk)

58 / 11 NW / 20% (18% fall wk to wk)

41 / 2 NW / 5% (29% fall wk to wk) TODAY

All settings deaths 10 - lowest in many months and a lot discounted presumably

Bit of a puzzle why this low really. Even with the backdating today that seems a lot discounted.

Cases up 21 from yesterday to 3423 v 4715 last Saturday and 5587 week before.

crikey I wonder what the French and Italians think when they see numbers like this.

I feel for them. We are really doing well. Also the first big test of unlocking of kids going back to school has not resulted in a big spike in new cases .
What a great impact the vaccines appear to have had. Let’s hope we keep on improving. At the risk of stating the obvious. the European mainland countries have to accelerate their vaccine rollouts
