Coronavirus (2021) thread

Seems to be a bit of a disconnect here. When I go for a piss at half time, it's a struggle to get past the stoners, no chance of a trap due to snow sniffers and there is a good percentage of bevvied up fat gits (I include myself) who have a piss then sling a couple of pints and a pie down in 15 minutes. Yet reading this thread is like a visit to the local Christian health club. I suspect not all of you go to the game????

I take it the airport pub beer garden will be open next week..can any spotters confirm

So according to the SAGE report from earlier, they’re suggesting we still need to socially distance at the same time as now next year at a minimum. I really hand on heart don’t understand what is going on at minute. Why is this needed ? What exactly changes next year that won’t be already done this year when we’ve competed our vaccine rollout ? So essentially nothing but long term social restrictions are good enough to keep this at bay ? I really feel like giving up. Seemingly nothing is good enough that doesn’t involve social restrictions. I’m fucking tired of existing like this, it’s just horrible when we’re supposed to start getting really positive about changing developments.
SAGE are an absolute joke
The government are basically been run by them fuck wits at the moment.
Like being In North Korea, they would have us locked up for 10 years if they could.

defo it’s good , I was and am happy with the lockdown time table unlocking and speed we are going.

however there is a little undercurrent in these conferences recently about ongoing restrictions emphasising the lack of efficacy with the jabs ( as opposed to the success) the need for restrictions, i think they are applying the lube for further lockdowns and restrictions down the line. Obviously I hope I am wrong and as Boris stated 21 June ALL Covid restrictions are lifted and the coming out of lockdown is irreversible.

that would be amazing. However I am not so sure.

I’m pretty confident that we are shortly out of the last national lockdown we will see, I think there will be a little hassle going abroad with some countries wanting tests, places like turkey Greece Spain won’t require tests once their own countries have gone through the vaccine program.

Nationally tests and masks will be voluntary or largely ignored.

I'm genuinely confused by the whole masks / social distancing thing being around for the foreseeable future, surely that then ends the prospects of concerts, festivals and most big events going ahead this year? You can't maintain social distancing at a concert or in a grandstand at a sports event (unless you have massively reduced capacities but that surely goes against the line about all restrictions being lifted on 21st June).

I hope so.

I think you're right. Tbh, i think most of the things we're talking about right now will be forgotten about eventually if cases and deaths stay manageably low. People will be acting fully normally come July if we push ahead with the roadmap. I think the covid vaccine passport thing will prove to be an utter sham, probs barely get used by any bars whatsoever, be ignored and be incredibly delayed even if it comes in...by which point everyone will ignore it. With regards to masks, we'll see them in shops and on public transport, and that's probs it. Regarding testing, who realistically is going to take up the option to voluntarily take 2 tests a week? I'd be surprised if more than a few in every 100 people do. I don't know anyone who would do that. That'll be another thing that is ignored and forgotten about pretty quickly. I reckon they ordered loads and are now desperately trying to use them.

Add to this the likelihood that the government will be under loads of pressure constantly, and they'll probably go back on loads of things and quietly sweep the under the rug too. Still feeling pretty confident about everything personally.
