Anyone hear that crank on Vine's show just now? She's a care home worker who is absolutely against having to take the vaccine. Said that all the residents in her care home have had the jab and no-one has gotten ill with Covid since so no need for her to have it. So in effect she was bigging up the efficacy of the vaccine but then went on to say she wasn't putting any of those chemicals into her body! Vine told her that she probably wouldn't have much choice, otherwise she'll be out of a job and asked her if that happens where will she work? "I'll get a job in Tescos and breathe over everyone then!"

Zoe App data:

Predicted cases 15, 758 - up 489 on yesterday - slightly up on the 311 rise day before. But it is not rising expoentially at these levels.

Ongoing symptomatic cases 188, 387 - up 8683 - smaller than the 9216 rise yesterday.

Never understand the reluctance of people to wear a mask, it really is a small price to pay.
I work with 3 people, all of whom are high risk due to copd or chronic asthma. All of them wear a mask in public places- their own choice as they are all technically exempt. For none of them has their health conditions got worse. The validity of most people who say they are exempt is questionable to say the least.most just don't like complying with regulations in general in my opinion.

Having been a carer for 14 years that attitude is not happily remotely common. And not remotely compatable with being a carer as all who have been one will know. And if Tesco has any sense - given it will have plenty of people sadly out of work looking toward their booming delivery jobs for a future - she will never make the short list for any job there.

It is her right to voluntarily become unemployed. There are plenty of people out of work now because of Covid who will gladly have a vaccination and kick its virus ass as a reward for costing them a livelihood. They will happily swap having a vaccine for a wage.

So let her explain that to her family. Let alone the people she supposedly does this job to care for.

Principles are great when you are bragging on TV or radio. But they will not pay her BILL at Tesco let alone get her a salary there.

well, Whitty and Valance were up infront of the press for weeks telling us they don’t work and that they may make you more likely to catch it. Then they changed their minds.

Not ideal is it

Sadly already heard 3 under 30s say they won’t bother getting vaccinated now after Monday’s delay because “what’s the point?” Fingers crossed it’s just a knee jerk reaction
In a way it was like the not very SAGE & the government saying, “we aren’t trusting the vaccine, not trusting most of the public to still be aware (masks , hand washing ,no snogging strangers social bleedin distancing ) “. That’s why in my opinion even more will refuse the jab.

BBC news just now - Manchester has had only 73% of carers agreeing to be vaccinated. One of the lowest in the UK,

And that is where some of the most cases in the UK are occurring right now.

Manchester vaccination numbers are pretty terrible all round and need urgently addressing.

As my nightly posts for the numbers from all 10 GM boroughs show the city is - and has been from the start - miles behind the rest.

Greater Manchester, the North West or the UK will not be safe until Manchester is safe and right now that looks a long way off.

Plenty on here saying the vaccines are a conspiracy or a choice will be the first to moan if not let into the Etihad next season. As they really need to be not allowed to do - if only to get this point across.

That - yes - it IS a choice - but one with consequences for your life if you choose no.

Hopefully this care home plan is the first step towards that patrolling of the opening up coming soon as it cannot be left to those willing to risk their own life and family's heath to do the same for the rest who have done the right thing.

The only exemptions should be for genuine medical reasons signed off by your GP.

Other countries will take this tough stance and be the ones to win the post Covid world. The right to say no should not be the same as the right to bankcrupt everyone else or put them at risk.

I be making masks or visors compulsory, I've yet to see anyone or anything on-line to suggest (although not as good as a mask) unless you have no head that a visor can't be worn.

Everyone has a duty to be respectful, responsible, careful and hygenic but no one should be expected/forced to have this vaccine until its 100% proven to be safe.
If and when that day comes, then no problem....crack on.
