Everyone has a duty to be respectful,responsible,careful and hygenic but no one should be expected/forced to have this vaccine until its 100% proven to be safe.
If and when that day comes,then no problem....crack on.

Do you not think the vaccines were tested? Yes, they happened quickly but that doesn't negate the testing protocols. It was an emergency and something had to be done quickly. As you says it's everyone's right to not get the vaccine as long as those people don't expect to lead a normal life like the rest of us, they can get fucked as far as I'm concerned and as a small business owner I won't be employing anyone without the jab in the future.

The vaccines only "happened quickly" because there was none of the red tape and arbitrary waiting periods that usually accompanies drug approval. They were tested under exactly the same clinical trials that every other drug goes through (at least in the US), and likely with a higher degree of scrutiny, not less, because literally everyone in the world was watching. Pretending there is a legitimate reason to not get them (which I'm not saying you are but clearly some do) is completely idiotic.

If they're refusing it on medical grounds, that's fine by me. Those with phobias about needles too. I'll even give leeway to gullible people who believe what they're told by those close to them, but rabid anti-vaxxers and the aforementioned woman on Vine's show earlier can get to fuck!

Whilst that might seem fair the point is with covid NO choice is just your choice as it impacts others.

I have zero problem with anyone who genuinely thinks the vaccines are dangerous and chooses to say no.

Provided they realise that making this choice means they must stay away from all members of their family, give up any job interacting with the public and not attend close contact indoor events until Covid is no longer a pandemic. At least another year I would bet.

But I suspect that is not what any of these people are asking to do. They want to say no AND live as normal.

Life does not work like that.

You have a choice not to enter the lottery. You cannot claim a share of the prize because you chose not to enter as you believed it was a fix.

You have a choice not to go out boozing and drive home. But if you knock someone over you have no argument about the consequences you will face.

Vaccines have to be up to the individual but NOT reward them the same as anyone else who makes the non selfish choice rather the one that just suits them.

The one exception being if your doctor affirms the risk of having the vaccine for you is signigficant enough to be taken into account.

I think I have met a few of them. They do wear a badge. It says something about the lizard people from Zeta Reticuli who live secretly inside the bodies of Boris Johnson and the Queen in order to rule the planet.

Though that IS true, by the way, not entirely a joke, I do appreciate that there are people with more genuine concerns about the vaccine than that - so I am emphatically not ridiculing all of them or their concerns by saying that. I accept there are true reasons people have genuine reservations.

Just saying the above about the ones - and they do exist - for whom this is either a political crusade or some belief rooted in modern conspiracy thinking.

And why I do believe in anyone's right to say no. Just not to say no and it make no difference to their lives until this pandemic is over. When they can say and do whatsoever they choose as long as it is within the law of the land.

I think people on the whole need to be more patient with those not getting the vaccines. There's constant fear-mongering and fake news that reinforces their decisions. At the minute we're vaccinating people at high speed. Once every willing person has had a vaccine there will be more data and those who are sceptical might change their mind.

Remember that telling someone they're thick and shouting at them is an awful way to bring them onside. Be sympathetic and listen to their reasoning. Understand their concerns and then offer scientific data as an argument.

133 patients - down 4 on yesterday but up 12 on last week

15 ventilated - down 2 on yesterday but up 1 on lat week

Like in England some hints of flattening off here too.
