Thanks for the replies on schools.

On the NI schools early closing I do see that but will not the same thing happen in England in an even bigger way given the numbers?

I think we are still guessing which way these numbers are going and are going to go and obviously local factors must be relevant.

See the Stockport dramatic rise in GM that has taken me by surprise and not sure where it is coming from. As a week or so ago it was doing best behind Bolton in GM.

So this is fluid and local factors must be in play.

Here I thought the highest in GM vaccination rate would curb big rises in Stockport but that hardly matters other than curbing hospitalisations and deaths - which obviously ARE what matters and far more important than raw case numbers anyway - if the ones catching it are in the 20% not vaccinated as the vast majority in Stockport are from the data I posted here last night.

Anyway for what the numbers are worth:

Three nations deaths today (always low on Sunday due to registration closures - though lowest tomorrow, of course) with England to come.

The total today is 4.

It was 1 at this stage last week.

That 1 became 26 with England adding the other 25 last Sunday.

And cases for the three nations with England to come is 3384

Last Sunday it was 3351.

England last week added 28, 421

Think it is unlikely to be anywhere near that low today.

Yesterday England added 50, 955 v 29, 732 - the Saturday before.

England now really is driving this increase we are seeing,

Still amused how many on here in favour of some gestapo esque enforcement of draconian rules despite all that need the jab having had it and those that haven’t clearly don’t want it

Have come to the conclusion COVID (assuming the PCR confirms that's what I've caught) is not a lot of fun in stifling humid heat. Woke up from a nap barely able to breath, took me an hour to find my breath. Nose isn't even blocked or runny but the passages are very constricted and it really doesn't feel like it's doing anything of much bloody use at all. Now sitting in a room filled with iceblocks and a 20" fan.

Good luck to all, whatever the views and squabbles, I know the vast majority are all genuinely only ever thinking of what is best for us all.

(And remember to drink shitloads of fluids wether well or not!)

The government need to publish figures on hospitalisation and deaths in the vaccinated and unvaccinated pronto.

apparently people who wear masks are "Karen's" now. Supermarket staff not wearing them and calling customers behind their back Karen's if they were wearing them, so our young folk are truly in the collective spirit for the benefit of all...
