Is it illogical and illiberal and has no place in a free and democratic society.

I'm ambivalent myself, just saying you've got no chance of a human rights challenge.

Illogical - nope, there's a clear logic to prevent infections.
Illiberal - yup.
"No place" - equally deadly pandemics aren't compatible with free society so there's a balance.

A judge would balance your "belief" (even if it were judged credible to be defined as such) against public health. You'd lose In think.

Then there's the rights of others not to be endangered by you. Might even find a duty on venues to protect the rights of the vulnerable to attend by excluding you? Seems more dubious. But I'm not a lawyer.

Much better to positively engage as many as poss to get vaxxed then the issue goes away.

I see no particular reason why it would prevent infections, given the vaccines do not prevent infection or spread of the virus. It may at best delay them but Covid-19 will circulate the country (and the world) forevermore.

There are a number of prominent groups of who believe it is a human rights breach, including Liberty HQ.

As for engaging with people, yes, that is infinitely more sensible and much more likely to be productive. Vaccines passports could easily fuel anti-vax sentiment and conspiracy theories.

People do not have freedom from infection of a virus.
I hate to break it to you but it is almost certain that everyone on this forum will get Covid at some point in their lifetime, and possibly numerous times.
A vaccine passport does nothing to change that, it is simply restricting the freedoms of people based on their personal choice.

You've quietly left out the fundamental twin of 'freedom', and that's responsibility towards other people and nature.

Freedom HAS limits. They are defined by laws of nature. Problem is, an individual doesn't have antenna for when it's enough. Egoist behaviour always wants more. "I'm the best, fcuk the rest."

That's the reason why we need scientifically based regulation from top down, otherwise the biggest egoist bastard always gets anything first, and more, insisting on his/her freedom while ignoring the rest.

As you know I am not anti vax and been double jabbed since late April but since I went out into the world for the first time 2 weeks ago I have developed out of nowhere a hissing in my ears.

I realised it was Tinnitus and my doctor did not mention Covid when consulting me over it and gave me a nasal spray to use which is as yet not helping but I was told it would take a week to start.

I know Tinnitus can be age related and most likely that is what has happened. Though it has come on very suddenly about 10 days ago and seems worse in the heat.

But I do see some are researching it as a possible Long Covid symptom or even a consequence of lockdwn as it has risen in numbers globally in the past year and so I wondered if anyone here had noticed this happening.

It is an irritant rather than a major problem and my hearing seems OK and if I distract myself it is easy to sideline.

In the very early days of the pandemic (last March) I had good reason to think I might have caught Covid and was moderately unwell for three or four weeks but never serious enough for my GP to even test me at a time when we had almost no tests, And by the time we did I was fine.

So I just accepted I would likely never know and being double jabbed now it would be pointless getting tested.

But I wondered if anyone else has had this whistling sound in your ears just turn up out of the blue.

Incorrect, wish people would stop spouting this shit. It's been shown time and again they limit infection and transmission.

Was a side effect of the vaccine not considered? If they are suggesting staying in your house for so long could cause it, then it sounds just as plausible that it’s a consequence of the vaccine to me.

The doctor never brought Covid up at all and to be honest it had not crossed my mind as related in any way to Covid or the vaccine until looking up remedies to treat it. As I knew it was pretty common with ageing.

I guess it might have been but not sure why and I had almost no reaction at all to the second jab and only a mild one for 24 hours or so to the first in February. Essentially just tiredness, So no reason to jump to that conclusion.

But if I have to talk to the doctor again over it I will ask. Thank you.
