Learn to read before you accuse me of spouting shit.

Not sure why you are having a go back. The first line of what you wrote "I see no particular reason why it would prevent infections, given the vaccines do not prevent infection or spread of the virus." is obviously wrong and proven scientifically. It's also extremely obvious that a vaccine will help reduce transmission rates as your body has the knowledge to fight the virus quicker therefore reducing the time you can spread it. Basic logic really

People do not have freedom from infection of a virus.
I hate to break it to you but it is almost certain that everyone on this forum will get Covid at some point in their lifetime, and possibly numerous times.
A vaccine passport does nothing to change that, it is simply restricting the freedoms of people based on their personal choice.
Is it illogical and illiberal and has no place in a free and democratic society.
There is nothing unusual about vaccines being required to travel and visit places. It happens all over the world. You need jabs to visit lots of places where diseases are prelavent. Why should someone who operates a business let someone in who is a very high risk of being infectious compared to those who have been vaccinated? Why should they put their livelihood at risk? What about their human rights? Until such time as we have got Covid under control (or at least suppressed like lots of other dangerous illnesses) it is inevitable that some sort of vaccine passport system will exist. You have personal choice but it doesn't give you the right to put other people at risk.

Reduce doesn't mean the same thing as prevent

They do not prevent transmission or spread. There are many people who have been vaccinated who have caught Covid. Is that simple enough for you?
The research so far confirms that those who have been vaccinated have a hugely lower infection risk compared to those unvaccinated. They have a massively lower chance of getting it. When they do catch Covid they do not transmit it anywhere near as much as those who are unvaccinated.
