Keep going. I am through the worst now. I started feeling better by about day 6 and am now day 10 and nowhere near as tired. Sadly still testing positive so will probably miss the Arsenal match. A good CL draw tonight and three points on Saturday should help.
You can continue testing positive for weeks after though. You can go out after day 10 from either first positive test or from first symptoms as long as you no longer have symptoms. Wife and both kids had it last week

Thanks I have been confused over this. The advice seems to differ from website to website. I thought the ten day isolation was just an initial period and until you tested negative you remained potentially infectious. That said I am still suffering some symptoms so I will exercise caution for Saturday.

Makes sense to be cautious, here’s the official guidance from NHS. There’s no ‘test’ that tells you you‘re no longer contagious

How long you need to self-isolate

If you test positive, your self-isolation period includes the day your symptoms started (or the day you had the test, if you do not have symptoms) and the next 10 full days.

If you get symptoms while you're self-isolating, the 10 days restarts from the day after your symptoms started.

When to stop self-isolating

You can stop self-isolating after the 10 days if either:

  • you do not have any symptoms
  • you just have a cough or changes to your sense of smell or taste – these can last for weeks after the infection has gone

When to keep self-isolating

Keep self-isolating if you have any of these symptoms after the 10 days:

  • a high temperature or feeling hot and shivery
  • a runny nose or sneezing
  • feeling or being sick
  • diarrhoea
Only stop self-isolating when these symptoms have gone.

If you have diarrhoea or you're being sick, stay at home until 48 hours after they've stopped.

You mean other than comparing the country that borders it which did exactly that? Come on if England’s cases were doubling like Scotland’s everyone would be slating the decision makers it works both ways.

As Tim Spector points out, the age group's causing Scotland's increases are those of school age and schools returned 2 weeks ago in Scotland.

My mistake there are three labs handling coronavirus in Wuhan.
- The Wuhan Institute of Virology
- The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
- The Hubei provincial CDC.

Now Thats Interesting. the The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention is a level 2 bio safety and according to wiki is less that 300 meters from the wet market that was considered ground zero ( later info makes it debatable it was mind you ).

I think the 3rd one maybe the same physical lab as 2nd from googling.

While I've always maintained a level 4 lab is unlikely to have leaked anything as the very nature of a level 4 lab is set up to prevent leaks. a Level 2 is far less strict and does open the debate up more.

Exactly and these age groups have been driving transmission since we got the vaccines so the worry is the big England rise is yet to come.

WE might have had it in dribs and drabs earlier in the Summer. That is the hope but it would be naive to expect no impact from the huge England school return after 6/8 weeks away during which numbers flattened right off. Again not by coincidence I am sure.

Especially as we seem to have taken all Summer to think about vaccinations for over 12s and seem close to doing it just as they all go back so no time to take much effect.

I get the feeling a few minds have been on vacation this Summer rather than make swift decisions.

3677 - about 28% - of cases in Northern Ireland over the past week were under 19.

3840 - even more - of these cases are in the 20 - 39 (most in the first half of that range too). TWO THIRDS of cases from the people least or not at all vaccinated.

No coincidence.

The numbers over 60 is 1449 - way fewer - and just 260 of them are in the most vulnerable over 80s.

It looks about as sure as it can be that the return to schools in England will drive these numbers up as kids will be kids and not think Covid after weeks not seeing their friends.

That in of itself will not have much healthcare impact but passing it onto granny who is 6 months beyond here immunity levels at vaccine dose 2 might well be as Winter closes in.

Quite. Only 300 meters away!

The origin of this coronavirus is supposedly from the bats of the caves of Yunnan, a place that is over 1,000 miles away from Wuhan.

Is it really a coincidence that the Wuhan labs specifically studied coronaviruses originating in those bats? Or did it just so happen to come from a wet market where actually after the ground zero cases they didn't find a single trace of coronavirus?

The artificially created theory has been discredited but I don't think anyone can discount a leak.
