My niece caught covid last week - BIL next, then nephew, now SIL so full house with SIL.
All very poorly by flu standards - "worst I've ever felt" - but thankfully not hospitalised and hopefully will stay that way - adults are vaxxed.
Schoolchildren are now driving the epidemic, with more kids now infected than at any point in the entire epidemic. And we can observe the sort of spillover seen in that household is happening elsewhere.
The extent to which that happens overall will dictate the extent to which there's a knock=on to hospitalisations and deaths.
Of course, had we done what many other countries did and vaccinated our children over the summer, this wouldn't be happening to remotely the same extent.
