I was disappointed to hear this morning that Hancock thinks every one will have been offered to have both jabs by the start of September.
Two months later than I would have expected given the current ramp up.
Why? 1 st phase is 25 million people about 50 mill doses so 24 weeks from now end of June, then think phase 2 is about 20 million people 40 mill doses, so 20 weeks end of October. So start of Sept sounds quite ambitious.

I'm told a few families are not consenting to the vaccination of relatives. They should be asked to take them home, if that's the case.
It's a bit of an ethical dilemma. If it is the family having to give the consent then presumably the relative does not have capacity and the family may not wish their relative to have life prolonging treatment which could include vaccination.

Against which is the possible protection of other staff and residents of the care home.

If a relative of mine or myself had advanced dementia I would not particularly wish them to have protection from Covid but I would want their carers and fellow residents to have protection so I would consent.

They have to prioritise both doses to the over 40s and that will take them well into the Summer.

The ones who will get it last will be the 18 - 25 age range where almost none get very ill.

But the haphazard way this is being done is absurd. At 89 now my friend is in dire need given her problems but still had heard nothing apart from - she insists - a phone call before Christmas FROM Hancock himself assuing her she was getting it early as one of the ones who was on the vulnerable list.

Nearly a month on nothing.

I told her it was surely a scammer but she says it was him - she recognised his voice.

Weird.
Needs to contact there surgery. Should have heard by now.

Merseyside Police response just a small gathering ? The Scousers love a coach greeting don't they.

Football in general eg players, managers and some fans don't seem to understand Covid 19 restrictions. With all these players flagrantly abusing the guidelines and increasing numbers of positive cases, I don't think it will be long before the season is temporarily suspended.

Small gathering or not its against the law ( ? ) so the Merseyside police should have issued fines .....simple

This article in the Guardian suggests around 22% of people in England have had Covid. Some areas are at 40% with Manchester at 36%.
