They do have the supply.
Read the vaccination plan.
The issue is batch testing and it won't be sorted for a week and a half. Specialised work and it can't be rushed as having a bad vaccine batch in the wild would be a disaster.
We could be doing 400k+ a day if we sort it though

Testing is part of supply.

"Supply" includes *everything* necessary to get to the customer.

ENGLAND HOSPITAL DATA Past 24 Hours.

More Grim News

Patients UP by 487 to 32, 689. Highest ever. Ventilators up by 132 to 3307 and now way over highest ever in first wave.

A week ago there were 27, 727 in hospital up 4962 in 7 days.

A week ago there were 2530 Ventilators so up 777 in 7 days

These big rises are very concerning.

The UK has done extremely well with vaccine procurement but I'm puzzled with the situation with the Moderna vaccine. The UK got its orders in for this well before the EU but it appears the EU is starting to receive it whereas we won't until late March/early April.

I don’t think we were well before them with the Moderna one, but I imagine it’s down to the amount they are purchasing and they also authorised it before we did.

I've been very positive wrt the roll out of the vaccination programme but I'm getting the feeling that the government is being deliberately vague about 'supply' issues by inferring that it is because the manufacturers aren't up to speed.

Hopefully it is just part of the inevitable bugs and cock ups that you would expect at the start of such a huge endeavour but I will be far less understanding if they still persist week commencing 25th.

We and the EU made our initial purchases of the Moderna Vaccine in November. Moderna might have had a better idea of the EU’s intention to purchase earlier than that because it was linked to the EU’s procurement exercise. Both we and the EU have bought additional does recently.

The enormity of our failure:

Did we have a workable pandemic plan? No.
Did we have sufficient testing facilities as part of this plan? No.
PPE stocks? Not part of the plan.
Did we insist on Masks? No. Quite the reverse and this as a decision by our so called experts.
Did we stop international travel? No. Twice this has caused surges with the original and then the Spanish variant.
Were we prepared to properly quarantine/isolate people using modern technology. No. A violation of our rights apparently.
Earlier lockdown? Meeting minutes indicate Cummings was pushing SAGE two weeks before.
- Non of the above would have been different with Labour
- Trace failure - Government issue.
- Not locking down earlier for lockdown 2 - possibly the Gov but Wales and Scotland didn't do much better.
- Covidiots? Who knows. They shoukd be tazered constantly.

I always expected problems. You can't possibly scale something like this up from zero in a couple of weeks.

To be honest, I'm really pleased how well it's gone, both supply and actual dosing.

Getting cases down is so important alongside the vaccinations, so any interruptions or delays aren't disastrous.

As long as we don't relax too quickly, I think things will be looking much better by Easter (4th April). We seem to have peaked for cases. But Jan and Feb will be awful, I'm afraid.
