Vast majority of the time they are in single digits of cases per day meaning they can do a really solid track and trace system.

in total they have had 2,262 known cases.

it was something we could have had if we had used the time we had wisely and not unlocked too quickly 1st time around. as well as not gone down the route of creating our own track and trace app which was a massive money and time hole as it was never going to work.
Shirley their tiny population per square meter helps as well

It may or may not be wishful thinking but ignoring the positivity rating as England has from day one and never refers to when the other nations do needs justifying.

That % going up or down is the only true measure of how good or bad case numbers are day to day. Why it gets posted here when available and the WHO call for it to be held below 5%

I have to suspect they WANT the public to see numbers appear to fall when they do even if they know there is a reason that they probably are not doing so quite in the way it appears.

It is hard to call whether cases fall because there is a smaller need for tests as cases are really dropping it seems from other measures too or because there is just less opportunity on a Sunday to do one or get the data back.

And it will be a bit of both as cases are clearly falling regardless of by how much.

But I hate the manipulation of data that hiding a key fact creates.

Could it not be seen as a positive that less people have asked for a test or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
Possibly but I think it's a little bit of wishful thinking. Mind you if we see a huge increase in testing this week and cases stay or drop below 30k then maybe we have turned a corner

I agree - and it may happen. But it still seems a needless withholding of key facts from 99% of the public who do not see what we do in here. As why would they?

All governments facing this kind of crisis should be honest and not massage data any way they might choose for effect. So if that is not what is happening then just tell us why positivity is not important enough to mention just in England. When WHO and the rest think it is.

My big disappointment is with the media who seem not to even see this is happening.

Testing WAS low yesterday 395, 737. Pillar 1 & 2. For 37, 535 cases

Compared with last two days:-

469, 404 for 38, 598

575, 337 for 41, 346

And it is a whopping 278, 000 down on last Thursday when there were nearly 56K cases!

As I have been saying all weekend the idiotic decision never to release testing numbers for England is something the media should be calling out. As it is vital to give context and every other home nation DOES do it but England.

Positivity numbers which all other nations report depend on it and Gov UK has no apparemt interest in revealing that data.

You have to ask why. It is not that thet do not sere its importance and starts to look like deliberate deception unless there is another very good explanation.
Excuse me if I’m being thick, which wouldn’t be the first time, but couldn’t it also be a positive that not as many people need tests as the lockdown is starting to work?
