710 England hospital deaths More details

Note there was quite a lot of catch up. About 30 cases were 3 weeks or more old and one dated from May.

Regions: 144 London, 144 Midlands. 114 East, 104 South East, 84 NE & Yorkshire, 70 North West, 50 South East

Hospitals with the most deaths:

40 from Barts London, 28 Norfolk & Norwich, and Liverpool at 21 the only NW hospital above single figures.

Age ranges:

20 - 39 (7) 0.9%

40 - 59 (54) 7.6%

60 - 79 (283) 39.9%

80 PLUS (366) 51.6%

Not much change here though second time that 80 Plus has nudged going below 50% this week and if it carries on and dies so might be significant.

so are you saying deaths in over 80s starting to go down?

saw that awful.

coppers teachers and supermarket workers should be treated as key workers and jabbed
All public facing workers should be on 6000 IU of vitamin D per day. BAME folks don't get enough in the summer and no one produces any in the UK in winter. It is the reason why it is hitting us so hard.
How NICE could rule out 3 surveys that showed MAJOR benefit and go with the the one that proclaimed marginal benefit is beyond me.
Still two more surveys showing major benefit since and two major trials underway. One in London and one in Spain. Perhaps, like masks, they will get their in the end.

Larry King has died and had tested positive and previously hospitalised for coronavirus.

He was some US interviewer one of the best I encountered over there.
That’s very sad, I’ve watched quite a lot of his interviews.

RIP Larry.

6000iu? Jeez, I bought “extra strength” tablets off Amazon and they are ”only” 2000iu!

My wife had the vaccine yesterday and she’s sick as a dog today, aching everywhere and has been in bed all day now, anyone else had this reaction?

Yeah. My missus' mum had it (Pfizer) and fell the same, but was fine within 48 hours. My missus' brother's girlfriend (NHS worker) was in her 20s and had hers too (AZ) and felt shite for a bit but is okay now. Just usual side effects I think mate!

It is not yet clear but if we start seeing around or sub 50% data regularly it will be good news.

Recall though that by far the most who die are over 70 (its well over 80% I believe) so working on the England bands of 60 - 79 and 80 + are not helpful,

It is early days for the vaccine but we should watch these numbers for a pattern day to day. Which is why I am posting them daily.

Unlikely we would see any dramatic difference this early
