Do we know if the UK has sufficient supplies or access to pfizer vaccine to administer 2nd jabs to those who have already had 1st ones if the EU restrict flow of vaccines out of EU states?

Thanks for your response Len,

Yes so that's the question, what is the definition of efficacy.

The way i see it is if no one ends up in hospital then that is remarkably good and this must mean your chances of dying from it once you have had the vaccine is virtually zero?
I was listening to a Professor on the news tonight talking about the J and J vaccine.
Basically he said that whilst the various vaccines had different efficacy rates as regards cases they were ALL were very effective in preventing serious illness and death.
This is great news given that questions have been raised about the AZ vaccine.
I wish the media would on occasions present the information this clearly.

All getting a bit messy now with the Eu.
It's what they are like, and what leavers have been saying for years about the unaccountable dictatorial beurocracy that is the EU. Once again for all their talk of peace and the GFA it is Brussels that are prepared to inflame tensions over the Irish border. They are just attempting to bully and coerce, pure and simple.

The bbc have misreported the new novavax one. They’ve made out that it is effective against the new Kent strain to the extent the others aren’t.
In fact they’ve said they think it is effective against the Kent one but that doesn’t mean the others aren’t.

I thought that as well, but they misreport lots of stuff to make things sound more sensationalist.

I'm sorry but years of being lied to have left me jaded. Can anyone provide a link to a reasonable set of facts and viewpoints re EU and UK vaccine supply? My only uninformed view is that some contracts were signed and that perhaps there was no legal stipulation for timeline of delivery, but it seems some bitter shit is being lobbed about

Porkies are flying.

Its just a shame no one seems to be talking about ramping up production. Surely it is within our (UK, EU, humanities) wit to very quickly replicate vaccine production facilities on a huge scale all over the world? Similar to the old proverb rather than give a man a fish (vaccine), teach him how to fish (make vaccine). I'm sure it isn't easy, but if you look at what was done to almost instantly ramp up ventilator production last year I'm sure it's possible.

It annoys me, this is the last fucking thing we need

I mean Christ, this little bubble of exceptionalism hardly needed to be inflated did it!!! These undertones grate on me, I just want everyone to be safe and getting on with their lives. Divided we fall.
