How Covid "sceptic" scientists statements stack up against the progress of the epidemic.

For context, Gupta and Heneghan were authors of the infamous "Great Barrington Declaration", and were invited to Downing st in Sept when the govt decided not to lock down against SAGE advice. Sikora is all over the media, despite being warned by Imperial College not to misrepresent himself as part of that institution.

I read this morning that India has built up 50 million doses of the Astrazeneca vaccine pending approval. Obviously they have a much bigger population than we do but it made me think about all this talk about producing and manufacturing vaccine at risk. I don't see much evidence that the pharmaceutical companies actually did this. The papers report that Astrazeneca have 4m doses which can be supplied to the UK once they have been checked and thereafter they can produce 2m a week. if they can do that then fine. We can vaccinate our way out if this in a matter of weeks, but it doesn't look like a stockpiling ever happened - and we were led to believe that they were doing that.

India approved it yesterday.
As to Russia - The Russian winter tends to put a stop to most social contact for a few months.

The flatearthers/plandemics shouhd gave stuff like this tattooed on their foreheads.
They’ve also made me more authoritarian in my outlook, the daft sods.

And if that's not enough depressing news, confirmation from Danish study that new variant is spreading much faster there too.

Low numbers for now (2.3% of cases only), but I think we've learned what exponential growth does in short order. Haven't we Boris?

National lockdown needed now.

Well, that would depend what their policy was, obviously.

If you don't think govt policy makes any difference, compare two similar societies with different policies.

Try Norway and Sweden.

why do i get a sinking feeling that we're going to fuck up this lifeline we've been offered re vaccines?

Howling at Sikora. He was absolutely everywhere at one stage and people were posting everything he had to say on here.


Nowhere to be seen now.

You just changed the question. Sweden's approach was disastrous even for a a country with low population density.
Ask the questions:
Which organisations put the pandemic plan in place that didn't survive first contact with the enemy because it was useless?
Which organisations swore blind that masks didnt help till it was proven to them that they did?
Which organisations are command-and-control type with zero digression at a local level?
Which organisations are generally shit at everything they do.
Report back.

keep your money in your pocket . I can only go of my experience of buying a sandwich & drink of them and I didn’t see anyone go in the pub .

Obviously it's all about opinions but mine is we have gotten off to a great start and from Monday things will really accelerate. From a standing start we have given 1 million people at least one dose of the difficult to roll out Pfizer vaccine in less than a month. We now have the Oxford vaccine that can be delivered more or less anywhere. Community nurses can take it to people's houses in cool bags if needed as well as it being delivered in GP surgeries, pharmacies and mass vaccination sites like the tennis centre next to the stadium.

The UK is already ahead of a similar nations in terms of vaccinations carried out and now with an easy to deliver UK produced vaccine we can motor on.
