Went round Sale Water Park the other day and its mobbed. There are less people in Asda than there and at least people in Asda don't have 2 big dogs with them. Still its a lot safer than me and the Mrs playing golf-the wan**rs.

747 England hospital deaths by age:

20 - 39 (6) 0.8%

40 - 59 ( 42) 5.6%

50 - 79 (294) 39.4%

80 +(405) 54.2%

Not really any sign of death age ranges changing but it is not helpful to only have these 20 year ranges to work from.

You would think they would break it down a little more as they too must want to be watching if the age ranges of deaths are shifting as we ramp up vaccinations to the older age ranges descending downward and that needs at least 5 year age groups to give us some insight.

But I guess if we start to see the 80 + notably fall below 50% that would be a start. As that would be the first change given they are prioritised and by far the most vulnerable.

And the really obvious one will be the actual total of deaths falling.

Whilst they are escalating as now that is not good news.

But, of course, deaths lag by 3 weeks or more the other data so we are not likely to see major shifts until the end of this month perhaps when we get to 4 weeks after significant numbers were vaccinated.

There must still be restrictions on vaccinated people as it is not known whether they can still transmit the disease or not.
In fact as far as I am aware vaccinated people still have to comply with government regulations the same as everyone else.

Exactly. Would erode goodwill from other age groups to abide by the rules if they didn't apply to the vaccinated whilst we are still in tough lockdown measures. The previously infected might come out claiming they have immunity too and decide not to self-isolate again if they are a close contact of a new case.

Perhaps most important indicator to watch is ICU ventilator beds. These are now at record levels almost everywhere.

In the England hospital region by region data I posted last night you will see many regions have more patients in than in April. Most in fact. The NW is well over that limit now.

And several regions are now well over the numbers who were on ventilators in the first wave.

The NW is one of the few remaining who are not but also one of those rising fastest towards it.

The Southern regions - even London - are now over the numbers on ventilators in April. Some by a large amount.

London alone at 1073 has more than a third of the record England ventilated bed patients at a shocking 3055 last night. It never went over 3000 in April.

Hopefully these will fall in the next couple of weeks as the vaccine begins to stop the oldest from needing them.

There is already word coming out of the hospitals down south that ICU and so ventilator bed patients are increasingly UNDER 60.

This might be a shift in the younger getting sicker with the new variant but equally if it means fewer over 80s requiring them could work the other way in terms of suggesting the early signs of the vaccine working.

England vaccinations yesterday - similar rate to Scotland - probably a little above Scotland. Much better than Wales.

140, 441

121, 129 were first doses

19, 312 were second doses

Current running tally for England:

I st doses 2, 080, 280

2 nd doses 393, 925

Total England vaccinations as of last night:- 2, 474, 205
That‘s a good effort, imo. Circa 140k on first day of ramping up.

Seen lots of walkers out today, in big groups of 5/6, all in their 60’s mostly.

Trying to walk past them and they’re walking right across the footpath in there groups, making no effort to open up space.

They should know better at that age, it’s not me that’s at high risk.
Must. Not. Bite.

I was cold all Weekend but then again my flat is pretty cold.
Yesterday I had more intense shivers a d by early evening I was sat on my sofa in my parka with a blanket....felt like a really heavy cold but then fly like symptoms initially but then descended into delirium as the night wore on.
Awful nights sleep with temperature and throbbing head and eyes.
Convinced I have covid so heading for a test shortly.
Real bummer as im a runner, eat healthily & take vit d daily (as I’ve done for years).

But I’ve heard lots of stories like this with people even younger getting it (im
47).
Chastising myself...part of me thinks I was run down of late due to poor sleep which comprised my immune system.

Feels like a mix of really bad flu & a heavy cold...
I have mild asthma too which is a slight concern but I hate feeling lethargic.

you should try and get your son to throw the bread in different spots around the canal rather than in just one place as they just pile on top of each other and you could actually injure them.
Shouldn’t actually feed them bread, it’s not good for them.

I agree, I’ve thought same about age ranges for a long time - there‘s a big difference (and not just the “joke” answer of 19 years) between someone aged 40 and someone who’s 59, health wise it’s a huge gap.

Not even fishing for a nibble.

There was several groups of old dears (well 60+) walking, definitely not same household and walking 4/5 across the path I was on.

Me and the Mrs went single file and still nearly didn’t get past them.

Stay safe mate, let us know how you get on with the test. Keep those fluid levels up.

Just been in tesco, the security and a female member of staff were enforcing the mask wearing , it wasnt very busy , traffic light system in place to get in , cleaner and sanitiser available . They have always taken it seriously tbf , used to be a big line outside but not as busy now , boots next door was empty and the last two times i have been in tier four i had to stay outside for about half hour , seemsca lot of cars in the carpark though

I’m only jesting mate, light hearted humour. It is very annoying. Even when we were out with the dog in the park earlier it was exactly the same. Not every group by all means, but I’d say a good 75% of groups have no etiquette whatsoever. We always, to extreme levels as well, get the full family into single file, including heading off edges of paths and sometimes you don’t even get a thanks or acknowledgement.

N Ireland data:

22 deaths - up from 18 last week

CASES AND TESTING NOT YET AVAILABLE AS A GLITCH IN PROCESSING IS HOLDING THEM UP. THEY HOPE TO FIX IT.

Care home outbreaks down 1 on yesterday to 149

751 patients (up 15 in day)

38 ventilator beds with covid (up 1 in day)

Most of the younger and working generation are having to stay in, close businesses, be placed on furlough etc because of these old c*nts. You'd have thought they would follow guidance and stay in doors.

Seen a few about on my lone daily run.

Traffic is what gets me. V8's roaring up and down the streets day and night. And I keep seeing the same cars over and over. Definitely not work related.

Laura K says there's no appetite in Govt to tighten things up any further. I'm feeling somewhat abandoned here.

Boris is going to do another disappearing act, I can feel it. Next time we see him he'll be boasting about 10m vaccinations or sth.

Yep 100% I'll be waiting until I'm confident it's ran its course, hopefully that will be sooner rather than later but it'll take as long as it takes.
Allow for the second wave , usually you initially feel better then a day or so later it has another go at you , stay off work and rest

The death figures are also significantly different between 60 and 69 and 70 and 79. Hence those under 70 being as far down as tier 5 of the queue for vaccinations unless they have other conditions.

Not that these tiers seem to be as adhered to as closely as the others were given reports of lower tier family being offered it a lot on here.

Either way that big gap is not helpful at a time like this.
