The current 7-day moving average is 434K/day so that means 3.038 million/week. This average has been in the range 430-440K/day over the past fortnight so seems to be our current average capacity (weather might have played a role in dampening things down a bit)

There are approximately 17 million in Priority groups 5-9 so at the current rate that would theoretically take 5.5 weeks

There are approx. 21 million in the rest of the adult population so that would theoretically take another 6.8 weeks.

So 12.3 weeks if we could maintain the current rate.

Of course, this assumes that all the remaining 38 million are willing and/or able to be vaccinated, which of course will not be the case.
this might have been done to death in here so i apologise, but have we vaccinated 434k a day or offered the vaccine to that many people?

Don't forget we have second jabs to give too.

Anyone with catch up should watch BBC breakfast on at the moment, Chris Smith and Linda think it’s Bauld, really knowledgable, no sensationalist views, good honest positivity based on facts.

Question. Anyone up to now been offered the vaccine but refused and wont be having it? I dont mean for medical reasons. Just bot having it.
if so 2 questions..

1) what are your reasons?
2) whats your plan moving forward ? considering it looks like we’ll just live with covid , so without being jabbed you’ll always be at risk

I have read suggestions on social media that public sector staff should have a 20% pay cut as it would only be fair. These were serious comments too.

It does seem to be causing abit of bad blood at the moment !

My boss has worked from home for nearly a year now and has saved himself around 2k in travelling experiences. Worked in complete safety also had an article in the local paper showing much gardening he has been doing at the weekends ! Of course lots of comments questioning if it was the weekends or was it it work time ;).
Now these people are complaining abit they heating bill going up because they are heating their house during the day !
In my mates office there is bad blood between the ones that worked from ( saved several thousands of pounds and like to boost about it ) and those that were made to still come into the office.

Some people have had a great time on furlough, look at how busy the beaches and parks were in the summer.

TV and radio seemed like everytime you put them on people were boosting about new skills and jobs they had done on furlough. Or how people have made a small fortune not travelling to London every day and have been able to pay of their credit card.

Yet foodbanks are on the increase.

All the time lots of people were still working putting themselves at risk we get full pay because we are still doing over 40 hrs or what ever. Alot of us had been working hard to cover for colleagues of self isolation or shielding. At our place no one took any time of till mid September as we were to busy, doing important work for the community. We were knackered by September.

I understand some people have lost their jobs etc but to say that the people how have worked throughout the pandemic putting our lives and family lives on the line should take a 20 % cut isnt right. Now if I was being a arse you could say perhaps look at those who have worked from home and made a small fortune in travel savings ! Like my boss in effect got an unexpected 2k pay rise. It seems we arent getting a pay this year.

I found myself getting jealous of all these people on furlough going to the beach, park, cycling etc. We would be working on the sea front and have never seen the front that busy even in mid summer.

They are lots of people who have struggled with lockdown and being furlough. By all means help these people out but not by hitting the people who have carried on going to work through out the pandemic.

I really feel for the small shops, the holiday trade, pub the hospitality trade anyone who has had to close their business down. I cant even try to understand how scary his must be for them

I thought I had read that the government said that council workers werent getting a pay rise this year.

It would be a shame if now hopefully we are near the end we all start arguing about who did what. I just want us to get back to normal asap

I was really scared to go back to work after Christmas the virus was out of control around here. And I had had some cancer treatment in the last few months but I still went to work. I wasnt told to shield. A week after this lockdown started I got a letter telling me to shield. Just odd how I had cancer cut out of my head , also using chemotherapy cream twice daily on my head to kill pre cancer cells, yet I was still in work. No told me to shield. After the 30 odd stitches in my head after the opp the doc just said give it a few days before you go back to work !!

Thankfully I am shielding until the 21st unless I hear from the government

Looks like we are very much over the worst now. With spring around the corner and treatment, testing and vaccination all improving we will get this beaten. Can see a degree of normaility soon and I think 2022 will be normal.

It's not all good news. Just reading nearly 87m pints of beer had to be poured down the drain in the last year....!

Joking aside, it is nice to see good news.
