You're definitely on a roll with those last two gags mate.Headingly in ‘81 was a close call
YepWeren't many public figures from Isle of Man gloating only a month or so a go they were out or lockdown and nearly Covid free? Lol

I would not smile too much as so many expect us to rush out of lockdown too if numbers go as low as they have been on the IOM for months now. But this shows that can easily go wrong in a moment if you ease too fast and it takes you back to square one.Weren't many public figures from Isle of Man gloating only a month or so a go they were out or lockdown and nearly Covid free? Wait and see what schools in England returning next week do to the numbers here first. Not many expect nothing to happen.
In the IOM they have had so few cases that there will be next to no immunity and one case of the Kent variant it seems brought there by ferry spread like mad as it will with all those never infected people to reach.
This is a real world illustration of why this pandemic will be a problem until everywhere is over it as the least effected and so probably the least vaccinated will be prone to outbreaks that explode across an area for months or years to come and unless the UK lockdown half the planet from travel this will go on until this kind of things cannot happen in places like the IOM.
At least Thomas the Tank Engine will have a good new set of stories as they are sent to the mainland from Sodor in search of vaccines to save the Fat Controller as he lies on a ventilator still wearing his bowler hat.
In case you did not know the island of Sodor IS the Isle of Man which was part of the old bishopric of Sodor and the writer of the stories lived on the island and loved the little engines and trams that still operate there.
The IOM is not actually part of the UK. It is a bit like Gibralta. A crown dependency that aligns laws to the UK at a ceremony every mid Summer and defers to the UK for defence. But otherwise is independent.I agree. I just remember councillors there being very smug towards the rest of the UK about being out of lockdown.
LOL ? Really ?Weren't many public figures from Isle of Man gloating only a month or so a go they were out or lockdown and nearly Covid free? Lol
LOL ? Really ?
Fair enough .Well yeah. Only a month or two a go, various public figures were gloating about IOM being "Covid free". Hardly something to gloat about given the small population.
I think that is a post that I truly hope you now regret posting.Fair enough .
Fuck em , let’s hope loads get it really bad . LOL

It was a sarcastic retort, I believe.I think that is a post that I truly hope you now regret posting.
To be fair they have had a good record by clamping down hard on rule breakers. Not a small fine or pat on the head but a few days in jail for breaching quarantine.Wasn't my point. I was actually highlighting the naivety of those in govt from the small island.
I accept that. Apologies if I over reacted but I have close ties with the island as you probably worked out by now.It was a sarcastic retort, I believe.
Also worth adding that, far from being smug about the latest release from their Lockdown, many Manx are desperate to be allowed off the island to visit friends, pubs and football over here in the UK. And I personally would love to have visited the Isle this year, a wonderful place. The IOM is not actually part of the UK. It is a bit like Gibralta. A crown dependency that aligns laws to the UK at a ceremony every mid Summer and defers to the UK for defence. But otherwise is independent.
It was never in the EU for example. Hence no fuss over trade deals there. Unlike Northern Ireland.
It was for hundreds of years a Norwegian nation with strong viking culture still evident there. It then fell under Scottish rule until the UK was created. It associates most closely with North West England though and the ferries have always gone there from Liverpool and Heysham (as they still do) but also until quite recently Fleetwood.
Cases 5947 New low.
And tests extraordinary new high! Nearly one million! 974, 514 pillar 1 & 2
Highest ever finds lowest ever.
What a headline that would have made had they not been delayed so they missed the press conference!
0.6% positivity is obviously absurd but is what it is.
