686, 264 vaccinations being reported in England alone yesterday. Second highest ever.

508, 013 second doses.

They are really ramping this up given how it improves the efficacy of the vaccines based on the data.

Two doses reduce the impact of the new variant considerably - only small % less than other variants if you have two doses.

46 cases - was 54 last week

0.3% positivity - was 0.3% last week

went the the garage to fill the car up Friday and out of about 20 people going in/out of the garage I was the only one that bothered with a mask. It was shocking.

You might want to have another read about re combinant DNA there fella it’s nothing your DNA that gets changed.
The ChAd0x 1 is the chimpanzee virus which is changed so it cannot replicate (and won’t make you ill even if you were a chimpanzee).
This chadox virus gets taken up by your cells and with a copy of the spike protein for Covid 19. Your cells make the spike protein not the Covid 19 virus. And your immune system recognizes the spike protein as foreign and creates an immune reaction to it ( hence why some people get mild fever/feel a little unwell etc with the vaccines)

The Pfizer one uses a different mechanism to get it into your cells (a small fatty particle) but works in a similar way after that.

I’m sure reading this here probably won’t make a difference to you but you never know.

Maybe everyone else was double vaccinated already more than two weeks ago.

Predicted Cases DOWN 232 to 2319.

North West falls into the darK pink zone. But still the highest region in UK.

Predicted symptomatic cases also up just 53 - by far smallest rise in past week or so - to 38, 498

The rise was 655 yesterday. And double that on Friday.

This is encouraging news all round.



NORTH WEST NUMBERS

Big changes here today! BURY Now the worst in the whole north of England. Something we saw days ago in here but the media are yet to report. Why are they always so far behind?


(Predicted active cases / Estimated cases per million population locally / Both V yesterday)

BURY 919 / 4875 V 530 / 2808

Big Rise. Takes Bury into the highest red watch zone. Overtakes Bolton and Doubles from yesterday and into the second tier of watch zones.

Now has the highest numbers in the North.


BOLTON 767 / 2705 V 856/ 3019 - ~ Happily a modest fall and strill in the second tier of watch zones but below Bury as the only one in GM in the top zone .

Of course more testing finds more cases.

As we see here unfortunately.....

Sadly a THIRD and today FOURTH GM borough now join in the watch areas making GM very much the epicentre and suggesting fears of it spreading after what happened in Bury are emerging.

MANCHESTER 1603 / 2940 v 264 / 485 - massive rise here since yesterday takes the city into the second tier of watcvh zones in one leap.

TAMESIDE 449 / 2006 V 292 / 1306 - another rise edging up into the second tier also. But below Manchester.


The MEN and Granada if anyone there IS reading this - speak up now please and tell your people - do NOT wait until the 5 day old data tells you this next week.



The leader in NW thojugh happily fell a bit:-

LANCASTER 496 / 3476 V 633 / 4434 - which is still ahead of Bolton, Manchester and Trafford but not now Bury.



North West is certainly the Covid epi centre right now as I think all reading these reports daily will have known. But it is a worsening situation. That is the problem.

WIRRAL has fallen a little in the light pink (first watch zone over 1000) at 399 / 1248 V 513 / 1605

And SOUTH RIBBLE (south of Preston) has emerged today as the latest NW hot spot in the second watch zone tier on 305 / 2785



Other GM Areas:-



OLDHAM 136 / 580 V 175 / 750 - happily going down here.

ROCHDALE 46 / 211 V 60 / 275 also heading the right way

SALFORD 54 / 216 V 72 / 284 the first fall in a week here

STOCKPORT 85 / 294 V 115 / 398 also a good fall here after a week of increases.

TRAFFORD 68 / 292 V 92 / 392 - like the two above also falls a little today.

WIGAN 109 / 335 V 134 / 413 - happily even here numbers are down which given Wigan's recent rise and proximity to Bolton is encouraging.

THIS IS CLEAR WARNING WE RISK SEEING THIS SPREADING AND GM AS A REGION IN A MESS UNLESS THEY STOP WAITING FOR FINALISED DATA

According to Zoe Cases are rising more or less everywhere as we all relax.

Not in of itself a big concern Just a need to watch carefully.


But - and I hope I do not get Bard for reporting this - STRATFORD ON AVON has in past few days become an area of concern. Now worse than anywhere in the North West. Today on 853 / 6780.



Aberdeen (Scotland) 1410 / 6237 V 1465 / 6481 is a small fall and no longer worst in UK given Stratford's rise.


North Lanarkshire (Scotland) 934 / 2760 V 1046 / 3091 - is falling a little dailt here but still in the middle grade of pink in UK regions.

East Dunbartronshire just below it on 216 / 2015



Others in England:-

Redbridge from the south east is up enough to top this list in England today at 1277 / 4234 V 1239 / 4106 - up slightly but one of the highest in UK now

Bedford 679 / 3991 v 578 / 3398 - a small rise

Leeds 2456 / 3133 V 2096 / 2674 - also going up

Bradford 2059 / 3860 V 1994 / 3739 - again up a little.

Leicester falling a little at 791 / 2239


Sevenoaks and Maldon in and around the South East also edged up into the lower watch tiers.


But Three Rivers north of London is still the highest of these watch zones - now on 253 / 2751.

I see you don't have a very high rate of posting, given the time you've been on here. Looking at that, it may be just as well. I'm not sure you'd have survived as long as you have.

Without saying too much I think we are on it a local level.
Didn't one of the Bolton MP''s ask a question last week about being Bolton being allowed to vaccinate everyone over 18 to help reduce the spread but was told by Hancock that they must stick to the designated cohorts.
Locally they just decided to go ahead anyway
 
So 2 deaths reported (from Wales) with England added later.

Last week it was 1 with 3 added from England later = 4.

And cases from the three nations (with England to come) is 501 - last week 454.

That is very good to know. Hope it applies in Bury too where numbers are spiking up and that Manchester and Tameside which are showing the early signs Bury did last week are on guard too.

Hopefully it spreads no further as I can imagine the upset if come mid June the UK opens up and GM enters yet another localised lockdown. The next 3 weeks are when that can be avoided. And if it means NOT doing what government tell them to do and it is deemed right locally I am behind that.
