It is binary choice.

You/One can either be part of society and take the vaccine or you can be a poorly educated (not thick as you note) selfish fucker and not bother.

As 90% needing oxygen right not aren’t vax’d then I guess I’m happy either way. I just wish they’d gasp for air at home rather than adding to the strain on the health service.

Where I live over 94% are double vaccinated (and that number are expected to also get the booster now they’ve started doing them), apparently education levels are far higher in the Far East. Or maybe people are less selfish. Who knows.
I think that the issue we have always had in the UK is that we have a quite "liberal" society. One that lives and let lives. Probably one of the reasons why so many want to come here from far flung despotic regimes, and see our little island as a haven for that same reason.
On the flip side we have some fucking idiots, who should be re fucking educated as to what living in despotic regimes and a third world country feels like. Tossers

Ive just googled “omicron brain damage” as many of my family members have had it and so have I. Given your tweet you’ve replied with, I was expecting to see articles and studies showing it may or does cause brain damage.

Having googled it, the only Google results related to the brain say you can get brain fog whilst having any Covid.

Why did you feel the need to post that? Are you looking for a response?

Are you trying to worry people who have this variant or who’s family have it?

and what evidence is there for any of that?
He helpfully provides evidence in each of the following posts. None of it is particularly controversial. People don't want to hear it, but the facts are the facts. Society has just weighed up the costs/benefits differently this time, with the most notable difference being that Omicron is linked with much less lung damage than previous variants, and this is strongly linked to a limited risk of death / incubation. But a lot of the rest is debatable. Subjective decisions have been made. Personally, I'm not comfortable with there being no evidence that neurological damage is less of a factor. The choices society has made disappoint me, but that's the truth about democracy. I don't chose - everyone does. The fact is, people have accepted this is the way forward, and I also accept there was no golden bullet or gaurantee we could succesfully do much about the rest.

Still, I would think it childish to pretend it is a decision that doesn't come with risks and costs - the point is, some of which may be hard to spot / provide evidence for at this stage.

the term is neurological damage. they already demonstrated that the loss of smell is linked to damage to glial cells (what we call grey matter). as the original studies involved the inspection of brains removed from people who died from earlier variants, they arrived several months into the first wave. meaning it's clearly a bit soon to expect similair studies specific to omicron.

There’s no evidence of brain damage.

There’s no evidence society will collapse.

So it’s total bollocks and hyperbole.

“Brain damage”

Fucking hell.

As stated before, the fact is, we know people with Omicron are losing their sense of their smell. And this was properly and fully established as linked to damage to neurological structures, specifically, glial cells. Which are in the brain, dumbass. Damage to cells in the brain.

If you don't know anything about brains, I could recommend you a book that might help you get it in perspective.

Does it make me worry people will lose motor control? No. Does it make me concerned about memory performance, attention, depression? Somewhat. Also long term risks of dementia and other stuff.

Sorry if I'm a bit blunt about it. More emotional than usual. Partly watching all this unfold, watching the crowd dynamics and people hurling abuse to effectively hide that they are following the tide and changing. Partly a winter thing. But maybe it has something to do with being teary every day around this time for... what... a week? Two? Same as last time I previously had COVID.

I really donj't have time to dress this stuff up. Go back and look at what happened when Damocles was last on this thread. They jumped down his throat for following the standard scientific method, and started talking about this thing that he just wasn't getting, that they couldn't explain. I'll explain it - it's group psychology. Everyone gets very excited, and a bit 'enthusiastic' when there's a change in the air, and they've already chosen the side they need to be on.

google covid brain damage rather than omicron. Its been attacking the brain in lots of cases since the very start but what exactly gets damaged or if it’s long term is still not anything I’ve seen.

In fact, loss of sense of smell with Omicron is less common than Delta or Alpha, so it’s no more damaging to the brain than them, less in fact. Drinking alcohol damages brain cells, smacking your head on your head board does. Using the term “brain damage” in relation to this variant is pure scaremongering and you know it, “dumbass”.

That tweet was specifically about omicron and how mild it is.

We know Omicron behaves different and we already know it’s more likely to go into your throat than lungs for example.

That **** tweeting doesn’t know what omicron does to the brain, yet he’s dropping terms like “brain damage” to frighten people.

File under attention seeking ****.

I’ve lost the sense of taste and smell a hundred times with a cold but fuck it, we are now suffering brain damage I see lol.

*climbs back under the duvet scares of life*
I couldn’t smell when I used to smoke, brain damaged then.

Granted he’s a click baiter but by the same note we know covid does these things. Until we know for sure omicron doesn’t do them it’s safer to assume it does.

Im really curious about long covid with omicron. I reckon ( total uneducated guess work ) that If no long covid then a lot of the other random things like heart scaring and brain issue down to covid toe will vanish with it.

It’s insinuating there’s something about omicron and brain damage. Cunts trick

No...I thought it was nonsense. And yeah, i was looking to see what people thought about it. I don't know who the guy is.
All my family have had omicron too.
