Coronavirus (2022) thread

and yet fewer died in the last few months than in the normal Flu season of 17-18 when no one actually gave a fuck about flu or fixated on numbers. Hell, you didn’t even have to create an account to log on to BM and talk about it that winter and probably didn’t even know it was happening.

Omicron is considerably less lethal than seasonal Flu as seen in Denmark, the U.K. and RSA and what great news that is.
How do people know more people were infected with Omicron than season flu when they don't test for seasonal flu as routine and certainly not in the large numbers we have for covid? What we do know is Seasonal flu can lead to many more hospital admissions including ICU admissions than omicron. This fact alone doesn't really back up some peoples own assertions.

Sounds very much like some are making up facts as they don't like being wrong on an internet forum or just like an argument.

Well this time none of you can find a way to blame me for reviving this thread! :)

It had cheered me up too seeing both the threads not even visible. So I kept clear of posting any updates here.

Though it was really cheerful to hear on This Morning just now about a new documentary on the Yorkshire Ripper. As I was writing about him last year in the updated edition of my book on serial killers and it was so depressing to think he had never really paid for his crimes.

Turns out he died of Covid and suffered terribly in his last few days with it.

So there is some justice at least.

Ain't Karma a woman. Still remember as a young kid reading the MEN about what he did and the fear he struck into communities. Just a shame that tax payers money kept him alive for so long, hanging would have been too good for him.
