Exclusive: Premier League club testing all players for coronavirus after three display symptoms

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...eague-club-testing-players-coronavirus-three/

All players at an unnamed Premier League club are today being tested for the coronavirus after three first-team players displayed symptoms. The test results are expected back tomorrow.

One player first showed symptoms of the virus earlier this week and was immediately placed in self-isolation. He appeared to be getting better but has since relapsed with two others subsequently displaying symptoms.

If the results come back positive the club’s game this weekend will certainly be called off but it will also lead to huge pressure on the Premier League to follow the lead of other European leagues and suspend all matches.

It's the the rags.

Suspicions were raised as the club couldn't work out how they'd beaten City again.

Perhaps if you go on the Tate web site you may be able to view the exhibits .
Not perfect but it may give your daughter "a feeling" for the exhibits .
Good luck .
Nice one pal - absolutely it’s the next best thing to see it online. I suggested that to her when she first mentioned it purely to save myself a few quid ! but she really wanted to see the Warhol paintings in real life.

Is the health of the supporters effected by playing behind closed doors vs. not playing at all?

That is such an open question and one that involves a lot of context. To completely stop the threat of this virus impacting everyone in the uk is going to require much more than the cancellation of major sporting events.

Stopping fans attending football fixtures is a way of managing it.

Personally if it goes behind closed doors my feeling is that many supporters will just congregate outside the grounds anyway and in local pubs.

There is a simple solution. Stop the competition

Surely if the safest thing to do is to cancel all football (and other sports), then it shouldn’t be the decision of the associated governing bodies, but a decision made by the governments.

The league is playing with fire if they don't cancel the season. If a player gets infected they could face major repercussions for not taking the right decision early on that could have prevented the infection.
They can't carry on with full stadiums in the present crisis. It is just madness. I saw the interview last night with Prof John Ashton, one of the UK's leading public health experts and a Liverpool season-ticket holder. He was scathing about the decision to play the Athletico match at Anfield. The greedy pigs running football need to be brought to book.

Totally agree this is not going to get better any time soon. Why put peoples lives at risk unnecessarily it should all be cancelled now.
