Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

Looks like the dail mail is wrong.....again.

Uefa statement on coronavirus: "In the light of the ongoing developments in the spread of COVID-19 across Europe and the changing analysis of the World Health Organisation, UEFA has today invited representatives of its 55 member associations, together with the boards of the European Club Association and the European Leagues and a representative of FIFPro, to attend meetings by videoconference on Tuesday 17 March to discuss European football’s response to the outbreak.

"Discussions will include all domestic and European competitions, including UEFA EURO 2020.

"Further communication will be made following those meetings."

They can't carry on with full stadiums in the present crisis. It is just madness. I saw the interview last night with Prof John Ashton, one of the UK's leading public health experts and a Liverpool season-ticket holder. He was scathing about the decision to play the Athletico match at Anfield. The greedy pigs running football need to be brought to book.

He was totally correct. 3,000 Madrid fans drinking and socialising in Liverpool, as he said some would be infected.

They should ban all travel between countries in and out until it is on top of, but again cash is king.

When you say football, do you mean this season or completely?

I can see the money being lost as completely debilitating for some and a knife in the kidney for others

Until which time a vaccine is developed.

As I suggested yesterday, football and sport is going into the deep freeze.

Forget suspension, it will be cancellation.

Our kids will all be home by the end of next week.

This needs to be done.

As we speak, are certain clubs applying pressure to the FA to not suspend football games in England? One club in particular must be absolutely desperate the PL season to continue even if behind closed doors.

Almost an entire week is an entity for things like this.

chances are it’ll get better, but what if it doesn’t? fucking mentalists putting money before humans again.

I think the players should have a big say in this, after all its their health that's at risk

from BBC, response from UEFA, meeting next Tuesday.......question why not today
