Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I just can't see how they can possibly restart after this news.

But if they do, and a player tests +ve after a game then my understanding is that all of the players/staff involved would then be isolated?

Imagine a scenario where 2 teams are isolated and are then unable to fulfill their next fixtures (as they are planning to cram them all in) so at least 2 games postponed. Do those teams then forfeit the points? This could be crucial on so many levels if so.

Also imagine the victims do get the required points quickly, they are then able to field their 2nd string for the rest of the season whilst all of the other teams would need to be pretty much full strength and therefore at more risk.
Klipperty has already asked, under the guise of “injuries”, if he could play youth players...

That’s bad because a mate of mine got one there last Friday and he’s not even a key worker. It might be because his other half works in a school though and one of the pupils had it. Still odd that he gets in for a test ahead of your Mrs though.
Maybe it was a system failure , I don’t know , Mrs said she didn’t want one as other people would need one more as she felt fine . The idea was to get her tested & clear so she could see her granddaughter, meanwhile 700 footballers get tested , but they’ve paid so alls well .

This is a disgrace. I know several people who work in the 999 services. Putting their life’s at risk daily & they can only have a test if showing symptoms. Yet we have just tested 748 footballers! Wow

I can not be the only one seeing this as a complete fook you to emergency workers & general public

This .....it f**king stinks that footballers are being tested more than key workers. I am really closed to f**king football of for good

I wonder if Liverpool get an outbreak of corona in their camp will they try to cover it up? Like, oh such an such player is 'injured' out for 2 weeks...

Six positive tests from three clubs so far.

So I guess there is a chance that those 6 have passed it on the others in the group. This wouldnt of happen if they had stayed at home. But the premier league had to come back at any cost to peoples safety it would seem.
