Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I agree watching City play at the Etithad while not being able to attend as a season ticket holder. It doesn't sit well with me.

Another thing that doesn't sit with me. Is why is it alright for Liverpool allowed to play the rest of their homes games at Anfield ,and we can't play the rest off our home games at home.

Once again we see the bias of the Premier League towards the red side of Livarpool. Like it has been most of this season. Once the Premier League said they were going to use VAR this season. I knew there would be no chance of us ever winning the Premier League title for the 3rd time in row. The only one who was going to win it was Livarpool.

I am sure you know the answers to your rhetorical questions.
The clue is Richard Scudamore and his quote on what is good for the Premier League?
OK for teams in red to dominate but not teams blue. Why?

i find it quite easy , the fact they have squirmed for 3 months over null & void , 25 pts clear their best season ever and they are still shitting themselves with doubt over winning a title they have throroughly deserved , its wonderful
But i also find it easy because we have a very winnable FA Cup quarter final , the remaining teams in the FA Cup are also very beatable , not forgetting a Champs league return game against Real and a probable Champs league Q/Final.
The Dippers win a league title (weve won four recently, so let them have one ) but we have a great chance of a consectutive treble winning season , if that's hard work , i will take it every season , Ennis.

that’s the spirit

No, what they will have achieved is the most points up to the league being postponed , .THey will then add to that tally in the next unique phase and when both points totals are added together they will more than likely have the most. What they will have achieved will be unique and never be repeated but it wont be comparable to any previous premier seasons nor will it be possible to compare them . It's not there fault but that's just the way it is and to continue playing is putting players and others at risk.
Spot on

I wouldn't trust Merseyside Police to arrest Hitler, if he was tied up outside Lime Street Station with a placard round his neck saying: "I am a mass murderer - arrest me." They must be the most useless "Police Force" in the UK, and that's an achievement.
unless it's an offence committed against a scouser

It’s worse than that. They changed City’s route to the ground, but published it. Easier than fingerprints would be to just check the cctv footage, like any normal force would do. I don’t have much time for the Police in general. They’re in their Masonic lodges ensuring high level corruption and paedophilia is ignored. Greater Manchester Police aren’t particularly great, but Merseyside Police do try very hard to make them look on another level professionally. Liverpool and Murkyside is just Dodge City surrounded by suburban, deprived areas run by mafia type gangs. I prefer Naples, at least the sun shines and the pizza is better.

It really is worse than this, if you look into how police federations (police unions) work , it really is worse than you can imagine. I have worked alongside police federations and they are amongst the most corrupt and racist organisations you could come across. They are also very sexist, to the extent that they have to reserve some places to female officers, otherwise they would ha ve no female representation.

File on Four on Radio4 did an interesting programme on sport and Coronavirus. They dealt with it chronologically and l was surprised to see how much l had missed or forgotten with all the media manipulation misrepresentation and misreporting together with the daft ideas floated daily.
The programme pointed how two local spikes had occurred. One after the Cheltenham racing and t'other in Liverpool following their knockout by Atletico despite medical warnings. The show were not impressed by that as other matches were being cancelled or behind closed doors.
Either they kept that quiet or l missed it.
Or l missed it because it was kept quiet.
