Don't do anything then, ever. No the Premier League is not a special case so do not make it so.
It's 'safe' to play sport outdoors. The measured sample of people who tested positive for the virus in the week 24 May to the 30 May was 0.11%. That's 1 in 1000 and this is profoundly an illness that badly affects the old and the immune-compromised. Even if hitherto healthy young adults were equally affected there are very few footballers who have tested positive for the virus.
Instead of having a blanket lockdown, and pretending that this virus affects everyone equally, we should recognise what has been obvious for months: this virus overwhelms a number of elderly, particularly if they have other conditions that leave them immune-compromised. Focus on protecting the weak and the vulnerable in society. That is what a welfare system is supposed to be for.
Nice, so as a person who has a compromised immune system I don't count as a fan anymore because I can get welfare. Elderly fans who have gone for years are no longer required, so fuck them off too. Maybe start having fitness tests before you are allowed into games. Why not a full medical, or you can only attend with a doctor and nursing team. You missed the adverse affects on the BAME community, so we best only have white English players too and if you are not pure blood white English, you cant attend as a fan either. City end up being a team of white English 21 year olds.
Football becomes the preserve of those fortunate to be in perfect health rather than the worlds game.
I am sure this would appeal to a lot of people, not me though, I want football to be played and watched by everyone when it is safe to do so, at the moment it is not safe and the R is on the rise in the NW again, indicating the possibility of a second wave.
